Yes. In fact, many SID's count eyeballs and not noses. Least accurate number in sports (attendance), bar none.

Building Supervisor gets turnstile count, but it is always the best kept secret in the program. Tickets out is what is reported, with a little rounding thrown in.

Yes, a simple YES or NO would have worked. I, for one, am glad that BOKC did not go that route, the insight and dialogue seems to be welcomed by most.... sorry you do not feel that way.

Whatever makes you happy.....

What is the rationale for inflating attendance numbers?

Here is a scoop from one of the NKU men's basketball coaches about their schedule next year. NKU will play Xavier. The coach did not say if it is at the BOKC or at Xavier. But it is going to happen next season. Hopefully if its at the BOKC they don't play it on a Sunday against the NFL. lol!

Not a shock with Dante Jackson on staff at NKU. Playing it at NKU would make perfect sense, no travel expenses for Xavier and they get the chance to pick up 1.4 wins in the RPI. Izzo has become a master at winnable (and seemingly odd) road games.

Perception of the program and value to potential Corporate Partners.

The new poster giving up NKU's turnstile count is a perfect example of what I talked about in post #197...except the "secret" part was missed. The SID isn't counting players / staff / employees, because they aren't being scanned or entering through a turnstile, but they are counting tickets out and then randomly rounding from there.

We have noticed the past two years NKU seems to inflate their attendance numbers for the public, no one really understands this at SMG. I saw the ACTUAL attendance count (those who entered the arena via tickets) and it was 4,019. NKU's 5,089 reflects those who have season tickets, even if they don't show up, players, coaches and staff for both teams, game crew, media, cheerleaders, band, dancers, even public safety and SMG workers! So take that NKU ANNOUNCED CROWD and subtract about 600-700 every game, if not more.

I'm probably a lot older than you - definitely a lot wiser so take the following as being from someone who knows how the world works.

Clyde, see his previous posts. He is part-time. He does not care. lol

You are not older, certainly not wiser than me. You are probably a know-it-all when you know little. Like the guru said earlier, a Chihuahua! lol. FYI - I work part time and the SMG folks are great to work for. Funny part of your comment is while I served that night in Beirut on Oct. 23, 1983, you were snuggled up in some college dorm acting like you were someone. Grow up, Chihuahua! lol.

I don't need a resume - or a job. I already served our country 31 years and have plenty of money. Obviously, you can't say the same. Wuff, Wuff! lol

Interesting take. Why does that matter to them? Is someone going to advertise with them because they have 2,000 listed instead of the ACTUAL count of 1,300?

He obviously did not bother reading all the posts previously in the thread. Hope he looks over his monthly bills with more detailed attention. lol!

And, just FYI, SMG employees are NOT paid by NKU. It's like saying someone who works for McDonald's will be terminated for giving out information on Burger King secrets. You probably know something about McDonald's or Burger King as potential employees I am assuming? lol

I think we got past the ending point here.
