January 24, 201511 yr Cincinnati,Northern and northeastern Kentucky looks to get in on the action on Monday. As of now maybe 1-2", Just north of Cincinnati around Dayton 2-4". I mention that because if the system tracks further to the south then those totals may hit Cincinnati/NKY. The rest of Kentucky, as of now, is looking mainly at a rain/snow mix. January 24, 201511 yr Not much snow so far this winter in southeast Kentucky and that's just fine with me. When I was younger I enjoyed seeing a few good snowfalls per winter but not as much anymore.
January 24, 201511 yr Author Afternoon update. The low pressure clipper system coming through seems to be taking a more southerly route. Here are a couple of maps to show this. The snow chances for Cincinnati/NKY are on the increase. 40-50% chance of at least an 1" of snow on Monday. If this southerly track trend continues look for the chance and amount of accumulation to increase. It looks like southeast Kentucky may get something out of this late Monday into Tuesday. Also Southeast Kentucky has a slight chance of snow almost everyday through Wednesday. I'll update in the morning and should have a better read on any possible snow accumulations. January 25, 201511 yr Author Sunday morning update. Well it is not looking good for those who don't want snow in the Cincinnati/NKY area. The models are still showing a more southerly track for the clipper system low later today into Monday. As of now the 1-2" snowfall prediction is looking good. But there is a problem or two. If clipper keeps on the more southerly track as the models are indicating then that accumulation prediction will go up. The second possible problem is that now there is a chance of freezing rain before it turns into all snow. Also areas south of NKY need to start looking for some light accumulations of snow. I'm talking as far south as the bluegrass area around I-64 It will start out as rain later today. There maybe also some gusty winds. These winds will bring in much colder air. Temps will fall into the 20's. This will cause the rain to turn to all snow. Also with the recent snow melt, this fall in temperature will cause some slick spots on the roads so every one will need to be careful on Monday morning. Here is a map to show the probability of 4" of snow. Take note it has moved closer to the Cincinnati area. I'll update later this evening with my accumulation predictions. Have the schools there even missed a day? Our school has not missed any in our area, which I can never remember ever happening, they will get out May 10th as of now.

January 25, 201511 yr Author I will update later today. I just looked at one model run of the NAM model. It is showing the low going through WKY. If that is the case everything will change in a big way. But don't take one run as being what will happen. That is why I'm waiting until later to give my snow accumulation call.
