January 25, 201511 yr Not much snow so far this winter in southeast Kentucky and that's just fine with me. When I was younger I enjoyed seeing a few good snowfalls per winter but not as much anymore. Snow doesn't bother me, it's usually gone quick around here and temps stay around 30. Cold weather is another story, can't stand single digit wind chills or anywhere close to that.

We may see the coldest air of this winter then. Colder than what we had earlier this month.

January 25, 201511 yr Author Just got through checking the afternoon runs. The system isn't showing that further southern trend I was talking about this morning. I'm staying with my previous snowfall forecast. 1-2" in the Cincinnati/NKY area. Also Cincinnati/NKY area has a 20-30% chance of some freezing rain. Areas from I-64 towards the north could see up to an inch. The morning commute could be a messy one. During the day on Monday areas along the I-75 corridor eastward could see an inch or less. This includes eastern Kentucky. Snow showers look to continue into Tuesday. We are dodging a bullet with this storm. After it passes through Kentucky it will turn and go up the east coast and intensify. Part of the northeast are facing what could be a historic snow storm. The same model info I use is showing 18+ inches for portions of the northeast. Our next shot for winter precipitation is on Thursday. The area under the gun for then is from the I-75 corridor eastward. This includes the entire eastern portion of Kentucky. I will post an update around 4 am in the morning. January 26, 201511 yr It is really warm here around Mason County, maybe 40 or so. Had a meeting at the workplace and everyone wanted the heat turned down, so am figuring just rain here and south.

The temps in Mason County are starting to fall as I said last night. I didn't think anything would start to happen until early Monday morning. The highs for Maysville should be in the mid to low 20's for Monday. This should occur by mid morning.
January 26, 201511 yr Author Really no change to my forecast from last night. Everyone should be on the lookout for black ice during the morning commute today. I want to add that we will see snow showers through Tuesday. Also WKY may see some very light if any accumulations overnight Monday into Tuesday. Be careful driving around this morning.
