I know most of the players on both teams and this is true. Jimmy is the "players coach" of NCC and Joe Frederick is the "players coach" on CCH. Both guys are huge assets to their programs.

Since I started on assistants, one big advantage CCH has is that Bacigalupo PLAYED for Ronnie Dawn. I'm sure Coach Dawn does not run the same sets and schemes he ran with Tony, but Tony knows Dawn's style as well as anyone. Helps CCH to adjust to NCC's adjustments (if that makes sense).

Was coached by Mr Dawn at St Therese as well and was on the NewCath staff for some time.

There was talk in the stands of kids talking trash but I couldn't catch if it was NCC or CCH kids doing it.

The point guard for CCH and # 15 talked trash all night. I had seats on the floor and saw it first hand. When Pangallo started cramping up #15 was in his face talking smack. I saw the refs warn each of them but continued to let them do it all game before the T at the end. No place in the game for this. Playing with emotion is one thing let your game talk for you. Just my opinion not a dog in the fight just a fan.

Taunting. Had already been warned.

They could call it every game on him.

Mark me down in the "love it" column. Harmless. Mark me down in the "love it" column as well when Weyer gave Bo a little "nudge" in the back after Bo fouled him on and "and 1." Rivals.

He walks a fine line.

NCC looked out of shape! they were laboring to get up and down the floor by the middle of the second quarter

I would like to see McDonald spend a summer in Coach Ruthsatz's conditioning program, he could be a beast. He will need to do some form of transformation for the next level.

Got more details on my comment last night. Talked with a cch parent this morning and it was all part of the plan to get in the Breds heads last night and it worked. From not giving giving the fist bumps to each player before the game, talking to them the entire game, to reaching, grabbing or whatever until the refs started calling it. The T was just confirmation that they were doing their jobs but the refs were catching on.

Plan accomplished...

Re: "in shape"

CCH had a very short bench last night. They didn't overwhelm NCC with depth.

CCH prides itself on balls to wall D and being in shape. Sometimes it matters.

I would say this matters all the time whether you are CCH or the team playing them.

I knew this was sort of true when I posted it last night. Now after reading about missed calls, bad strategy, mind games, and physical play I KNOW it's true. It seems like a thread we see each September.

This reminds me more of our early frustrations w Beechwood in football. You know that you are more talented or just as talented a lot of the time, but they KNOW that they can beat you and you think that you can win. The mental gap bn knowing you can and thinking you can is worth a first quarter a lot of the time.

Editing the Covcath-Newcath film now.

Highlights should be up either later tonight or tomorrow.

In my opinion the colonels are a fast physical team and that's what got them there last year and that's what they are looking to do again this year.
