Worst loss for Florida State since 1983 when Florida beat them 53-14. Hasn't been one by more than 39 since 1981 when Southern Miss won 58-14. Those were in Bobby Bowden's first decade.

 

Oregon seized control midway through the third. The first crack came when they forced a Dalvin Cook fumble on the opening drive of the second half, a drive that was going well for FSU. But with the score 25-20 with just under 7 minutes left in the third, things moved quickly against them. Oregon hit a 50+ yard TD to move it to 32-20. Another Dalvin Cook fumble gave the ball back, followed by another TD two plays later. Suddenly, it was 39-20, and FSU never recovered, and then later, basically quit. 34 points by Oregon and I believe five turnovers forced in a span of 11 minutes of gametime. Some forced errors, some unforced, and offensive dominance by Oregon.

 

That's what I've got. Have at it, both serious discussion and the haters.

Agreed. I love FSU, but losses reveal character more than wins. And that was disappointing to see.

FSU players showing lack of class by not shaking hands and running to lockerroom. Glad they were exposed today. Oregon definitely the better team. What a dismantling of FSU they showed.

Overall the better team won but noway did I see it being so one sided.

 

All joking aside Fl-St deserved to be in the playoffs.

Finally a team good enough to finish FSU off and then some. A shame the committee had to factor last year into this year.

With that, as I told PP92 I have a serious case of Jamies Fatigue and FSU Fatigue. Just a hard team to even like if you're not a devoted fan.

I just can't agree with the notion that they didn't belong in the playoff, even with the size of this margin. That's as far as I feel the need to go with it.

Wahhhh, the post game handshake is the most overrated aspect in all of sports at all levels. I wouldn't shake hands either. My last game of organized sports I didn't shake hands with the guys that beat me. Post game handshakes are stupid. I'm glad they didn't shake hands.

Most of FSU showed lack of character and no class. I'm even more happy that they got destroyed!

I have no worry about their future - none. You can agree or disagree, but character issues have typically gone hand in hand with some of the best talent. The irony of the declines of some of the teams you've compared them to over the last few weeks is that when they try to get away from some of those players with character issues - they've walked away from talent and that's what CAUSED the decline.

 

Urban recruited a ton, a TON of questionable character guys to UF. It matters not that his most visible one was one of the greatest men to ever play the game, he had a ton of character issues on those teams. It's when he left and they attempted to clean all that up that stuff went down. Same thing with some of the Miami times in the past.

 

Florida State just lost for the first time in two years. They will likely have a step down next year as the offense turns over, but the recruiting has remained incredibly strong and Jimbo has done a great job at FSU so far. I have no worries about them at all.
