Dirk Minniefield would be on any list regading the 11th region. One the greatest High School guards ever from the state of Kentucky.

That's why I specified that it was off the top of my head. Honestly the first 3 guards and 2 bigs to come to mind. I'm sure there are many that can fill it out better than I can.

A good list, although there may be some question about Butch Beard being on it simply because I don't think Breck County was in the Third Region when we was there.

 

Breck Co. has been 3rd region for as long as I have followed high school sports. I just used guys from teams in the region now. I'm not really sure where to even access records of who was in what region each year.

Ron King and Central were 6th Region. But I'd like to see Manual Forrest Moore HS on that list

Thank you, and definitely so. I think each of those were on the list of NBA players from Louisville High Schools I used. I didn't put any Central kids because I thought they were 6th Region, but they might be one of the schools who recently changed.

 

Moral of the story: when your region's all time list has a few year's NBA experience as a must to even be considered (aside from Bush), your region is LOADED with talent through the years.

 

I put Bush on there because in all my years of watching the 7th, he was the most physically imposing guy I think I've seen, and that might go for any player in the State (though Tony Key of Russellville would give him a run). I really think he could have been a pro in any sport that he chose if he took one and focused on that and nothing else.

Shawnee HS was also in the 6th region . Other 7th Region players were Manual Forrest jefferson countys all time leading scorer , Jason Osbourne from Male, Dajuan Wheat ,Ballard ,Herb Crook and Felton Spencer Eastern and Rick Wilson Atherton to name a few. These kids all had great high school careers.
