I know the re-alignment is done but what is the point in classes if schools are going to pick and choose whether they want to stay in their class or go to someone else's, Did all schools get the option or just the outliers?

Boone (726) has a smaller enrollment than Dixie (754) and declined the request to move down while Cooper (576) and Conner (650) request to move up from 5A to 6A. Scott (541) agrees to move down to 4A.

Agreed on this. The classes, however you want to divide them, by specific enrollment numbers or equal numbers of teams in a class, should be set and not adjusted. But that's just my opinion.

This one is pretty interesting. It doesn't have Ft. Knox in 1A, though.

Just looking at all classes from top to bottom as far being stacked 2A is loaded. Even with Bardstown moving up, you have powerhouse Mayfield, and probably one of the Top 2A schools before last realignment in Monroe County. This class to me is a super class. Outside of the Top 10 in other classes there are no tradition rich programs, but in 2A if not mistaken I think of 32 teams there are 15 different programs that have won a state championship or multiple one's. When you do look at Fort Knox at one time they were winning titles.

Shelby County will move down to 4a which means they are in the same district as Collins. I bet the folks in Shelby County are licking their chops at the fact that both schools are in the same district now. Should be fun if they meet in the playoffs.

As for the remaining 2A teams, I'd call these schools major name teams:

 

-Mayfield

-Murray

-Owensboro Catholic

-Glasgow

-Monroe County

-CAL

-DeSales

-Newport Catholic

-Danville

-Lexington Christian

-Somerset

-Prestonsburg

 

I'm not sure I'd call it the strongest class because most of those schools were 2A this year and the eastern half was terrible, but there is a good deal of tradition in 2A.

2A has been fun to watch over the years. Very competitive.

Dixie was probably the 2nd best team playing in Bowling Green last weekend. I thought they were.

You know what's scary about 3A? Here Boyle, Ft. Campbell and Central are listed and these guys aren't even in the "Top Championship Winners List":

-Paducah Tilghman

-Bardstown

-Lexington Catholic

-Corbin

-Belfry

-Breathitt County

-Caldwell County

-Trigg County

 

....are all schools who have won multiple state titles.

 

Thing is, 8 of those teams (including those in the TOPS list) are just in the WEST.
