...for the most part. Moreso than any other class by far.

You know what's scary about 3A? Here Boyle, Ft. Campbell and Central are listed and these guys aren't even in the "Top Championship Winners List":

-Paducah Tilghman

-Bardstown

-Lexington Catholic

-Corbin

-Belfry

-Breathitt County

-Caldwell County

-Trigg County

 

....are all schools who have won multiple state titles.

 

Thing is, 8 of those teams (including those in the TOPS list) are just in the WEST.

Agreed on this. The classes, however you want to divide them, by specific enrollment numbers or equal numbers of teams in a class, should be set and not adjusted. But that's just my opinion.

 

In some cases I see it as okay. I know Bath County and West Carter did not want to be in 2A and have to travel 2-3 hours for every away district game being that there are no other 2A schools in NEKY. I have no problem with those two schools playing up in 3A and having closer drives to their district opponents.

Hard to argue with Bath and West Carter. Looking at and mapping the original breakdown of classes, it was my belief they were the only two schools with a legitimate request to move up. Everyone else seemed to have very, very ulterior motives!

Shelby County will move down to 4a which means they are in the same district as Collins. I bet the folks in Shelby County are licking their chops at the fact that both schools are in the same district now. Should be fun if they meet in the playoffs.

 

That would make for a great crowd. I'm sure both schools would love it, that just means a lot more money for them if they play twice in one year. They were in the same district in the 2010 season but Shelby County failed to make the playoffs.

I disagree. While they lose a lot to graduation, they also have some very good young talent coming up. Soph. Barrett has a lot of speed, and current freshman class, O-Line and D-Line in particular has a lot of size. Next year will be tough as they will rely on a lot of young talent, but the following year could be very interesting.

Refresh my memory, what prompted the KHSAA to do it differently in 6A in the first place?

I see Ohio Co is moving up but I don't understand putting them in D1 making 5 teams in that district while there are only 3 teams in D2.

Complaints from the districts that were matched against the districts with Trinity, X and Male. They thought is was "unfair" that they had to face those districts in the first round every year. The NKY 6A districts are now so incredibly weak it will potentially be better for a team to place 5th in the 2 Louisville districts and be shipped to NKY for the playoffs then it will be for them to finish 4th and stay in Louisville.
