Coach Dew, Mayfield.

Bart Bruner, St. X Defensive Coordinator, did an outstanding job this season molding a group of 10 first-time starters into a terrific unit!

Brandon Smith 2013 he was defensive cord. For South Warren and total points avg allowed for year was 4.3. This year as head coach and still involved with defense around avg of 9 to 10 points per game.

Vaughn hatcher- williamsburg his D has shut down offenses all year

Why, but why would a Mayfield fan mention anyone. I would like to keep him here. Be very quiet when sneaking up on a rabbit.

Tony Saylor at Rock castle, he has been retired a couple of years but he still has his finger prints on the Rock defense.

Over the last several years his defenses have seen some the best offenses in the state.

Whether it was Fort C., Mayfield, Madisonville, O Cath., or Caldwell, he has been able to shut them down

or at least contain them.

 

They may not have won most of those games but his defenses keep them in a close

game each time. Very rarely has he defenses giving up a lot points to very good teams.

 

The DeSales game last year I believe was the most points allowed by one of his defenses, since

Calloway put up 40 or 44 back in either 07 or 08 not sure which it was. But since then, very few high scoring teams

have even gotten close to their season averages in points scored. Most have been held to less then half.

 

Correction Brian Station and Caldwell put up 40+ last year.

 

But over the last several years.... he defenses allowed least than

10 pts a game for the year. 20 pts a game last year was the most in last 7 years.

Bowling Green has led 5A in scoring defense 4 years in a row. The first 2 years Jeff Griffith was DC and the last 2 Mark Spader has been.

Didn't know that. Dang impressive and that takes so much pressure off an offense. Did Griffith move on to a HC job?
