  1. St. X beat Trinity, 35-21, on Oct. 3, 2014
  2. With the win last night, the St. X JV ran their two-year record to 19 - 0. Several talented Sophs who will continue contributing for St. X the next two years!
  3. St. X - Manual JV game (that was to be played this past Monday) was cancelled
  4. In the 2017 season, the St. X and Trinity JV and Freshmen teams will play twice, once at each school. I'm told this is an old tradition the schools agreed to renew. The two-game JV series begins next Sat., Aug. 26, then the JV Tigers travel to Shelbyville Road to face the JV Rocks. Then, the Frosh Tigers play the Rocks' Frosh at Trinity on Mon., Aug. 28. Next month, the JV game will be on Mon., Sept. 25, at St. X, and the freshmen teams play on Thurs., Sept. 28, also at St. X.
  5. Jake Collins (St. X '14), in his 2nd season as WKU's starting punter, has been nominated again for the Ray Guy Award as the top college punter in the US.
  6. Today, Moeller freshmen beat Trinity 24-21. Moeller scored to tie with two minutes to go - then they kicked winning field goal with 2 secs left
  7. Agreed! DeSales was impressive and their future is bright!
  8. Yes, X JV finished their undefeated season on Monday, with a home win over DeSales. Like the X Frosh, the JV also won at Moeller and Trinity, and beat Male at home.
  9. The Tigers beat the Colts, 35 - 13, this afternoon at the beautiful new DeSales field. With the win, the Frosh X team completed an undefeated season, with victories at Moeller and Trinity along with today's away game, and beat Male at home.
  10. Bruin, Mike Glaser didn't coach against Chris Wolfe, or the great talent Male's had since 2013
  11. Good call, LTR! From near-end of 2nd quarter to final whistle, St. X out scores Male, 24-0
  12. St. X Frosh now 5-0, with wins at Moeller and Trinity, and Male (at home).
  13. Desmond Ridder recently got offers from Cincinnati & EKU
  14. Coach Jackson's combine at Ballard High School in Louisville is an excellent opportunity for players to get noticed by college coaches -- especially those at the DII, DIII and NAIA levels -- and is very affordable, too.
  15. Pep Rock, this thread's about how to accurately characterize St. X's search for a new OC: decisive leadership vs. grasping at straws. I consider it the former & said so. Another poster considers it the latter. His argument was a comparison of coaches' effectiveness based on a very narrow slice of data. Got it?
  16. Bruin66: You take a narrow slice of data (points scored) as the basis for your argument. That's the point.
  17. You selectively choose partial facts to characterize entire seasons, conveniently overlooking many other significant factors, including (not limited to) quality of all opponents; quality and talent of players -- Tigers and opponents -- season's worth of all key team stats; etc. So go ahead and cling to your theory that one coach wasn't appropriately heralded for his offensive genius.
  18. Yeah, I do. Coach Bruner wasn't DC at St. X until the 2014 season. And, yeah, a lot wrong with those glasses
  19. Bruin, You couldn't be more incorrect in your assessment of the situation. Try taking off your Glaser-colored glasses, really watching games, observing practices, and talking to the players. In just one season, Wolford's DC hire, Bart Bruner, dramatically improved a defense that had 10 new starters &, allegedly, far less talent than Wolford's first DC had at his disposal. I believe Wolford will now bring aboard a Bruner-caliber offensive coordinator.
  20. Bart Bruner, St. X Defensive Coordinator, did an outstanding job this season molding a group of 10 first-time starters into a terrific unit!
