With the win, the Frosh X team completed an undefeated season, with victories at Moeller and Trinity along with today's away game, and beat Male at home.

Yes, X JV finished their undefeated season on Monday, with a home win over DeSales.

 

Like the X Frosh, the JV also won at Moeller and Trinity, and beat Male at home.

Should be a fun couple of years ahead!

Here's some good news from the other side...this is a very deceiving score. For those in 2-A, look out, the future is bright for the Colts also. First of all, they clearly had the three best players on the field. They had 25-30 players and X had 105. So guess what? They wore us down badly in the second half. HOWEVER, here's what the first half looked like. DeSales had 11 first downs and roared ahead 13-0, while also coming up an inch short on 4th down in the red zone, keeping them from a THIRD score in the first half. Meanwhile, X did not get a first down until half way through the 2nd quarter. DeSales won the battle in the trenches...until the second half. It became apparent that all of our guys that were playing both ways got worn down. When you've got a tired defense against a fresh offense and a tired offense against a fresh defense, you lose the second half 28-0. Add to that the dominance of X in their other games, and this was a very impressive result for the young Colts. Congrats to X on a great freshman season.

I would agree on # 1 for Desales being the best. I think our QB was pretty impressive running the ball.

quick question a flag during the game it was very confusing. St X. QB throws a TOUCHDOWN with the clock having 00:00. There was an offensive penality for illegal forward pass since the QB was past the line of scrimmage. I though the Quarter COULD end on an Offensive penalty? Apparently not, moved them back 5 yards, no loss of down and gave them 1 untimed down. I'm I confused on the rule?

Also, of course the fans for X thought he was clearly behind the line when he threw it and the DeSales fans the opposite.

Good question. The quarter CAN end on an offensive penalty. But because the result of the play was a TD, DeSales accepted the penalty instead of declining it, which gave St X one more play.

Definitely! However, I think I could have run through most of the holes that were opened for him in the second half. But you're correct, he did look like a good athlete.
