You don't have to explain anything Allen. We all appreciate all the pictures you take. People should really find out the correct information before spouting off on BGP. My guess is the person complaining was not even at the game. If they were, or if they had been the last 8 years during this run of championships, they would know that the field security will not allow anyone onto the field without the proper pass. The band members were in the stands. So no need to explain why they were not in any pictures.

 

Keep up the good work. And let me know when the band decides to call or hire you to take pictures of their performances.

I hadn't considered that the complaint - either on here or elsewhere - about the band not being in the picture was directed at me. I was just giving a plausible explanation as to why they weren't in the picture.

I'm wondering if anyone noticed that several of the coaches/staff aren't in the pictures - Coach Weinrich isn't even in there.

 

But thinking back, there probably aren't many pictures of the band at the big game. At least not by me. And not any that were focused solely on them. They may have made it into a couple of the dance team after a touchdown or a fan section shot. But that's probably about it.

 

Generally speaking, the photographers go where the action is or where they are told/ASKED to go. They notice which pictures get the most comments/shares on social media. They definitely notice who purchases their work and what pictures get purchased. (**It's not necessarily about the money either. No one charges enough to make any real money. It is the feedback mechanism.) Those things will consciously and subconsciously impact what pictures get taken.

But the first step if your picture isn't being taken is to ASK...

 

As a side note, I did post quite a few pictures of the band at half time performances. Very few comments and zero shares on social media. Zero purchases. *Again, these things are not required but do influence where the cameras point.

 

Highland#1, feel free to tell the band or whoever that if they have any comments/complaints/requests or whatever, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm not hard to track down.

Great response AllenR. See not all of us on here that support Highlands are out to get you Highlands#1. And to take it a little further what AllenR said, if you need to contact anyone of real importance about the situation at Highlands, feel free to call Coach Wienrich. I'm sure he can settle your fears about the upcoming years at Highlands. Heck, this past year showed what he was able to do with another mediocre football team. He's looking to be another great coach in the history of Highlands football. All will be fine I'm sure!

I'm thinking we are being pulled in by a disgruntled band member, possibly a band parent.

 

I'll say that there is an EXTREMELY LARGE supporting cast of characters in the drama that is HHS football. So many that to get a group picture at DCM, we'd have to use the stands and field and take the picture from a helicopter.

As a cheer parent, I consider the cheerleaders a part of the team. They spend a lot of time decorating lockers, making baked goods, treats, and putting together goodie bags for players. They go to ALL of the games, including BOTH trips to Bowling Green this year. HOWEVER, I can't comment about what the dance team, band, or any other student "group" does or doesn't do for pre/post game. They may be doing the same stuff - except for going to all the games.

A little Birdy threw out a possible challenger at QB next yr in Mitchell Caín. Kid is very Athletic but does he have any past history of being a QB? I could see Hergott as a big time TE if this scenario plays out.

Yes Mitchell has some past experience at the position. His 8th grade year he ran the Wildcat for me with pretty good success and is a gamer with a pretty decent arm. With the right amount of preparation, he will be in discussion for the position whether some people want to admit(like) it or not. Some kids have the gift to play and some don't. Mitchell doesn't have that problem. He just needs a little guidance and there are a few little Birdie(s) that are willing to help get him prepared and caught up so to speak. Stay tuned!

Well you've come full circle I see- and like I said, parents are parents, even in the Fort.

 

Yours is the kind of self serving attitude that coaches despise and fellow parents hate. Soon enough, your attitude permeates to your kid and eventually to the locker room where his teammates (knowing that it's HIS Dad posting such boastful claims on a message board) grow to resent the young man - which is a shame because it really all falls on the shoulders of an assumably full grown adult. His parent no less.

 

I'm not a Highlands backer but I admire and respect what they do and I know what unites and divides a locker room. You should cool it and just enjoy the ride.

IMO, if someone in the band wanted their picture taken, they should have joined the football team instead. This was a football championship, not a band competition.

I do not believe the boy's would have a problem with my boy at all. The parent's may if my son steps up in front of theirs but the team only cares about winning not who does it for them. As I said before I'm finished. Let's sit back and see what the little birdies will do. Churp churp
