The better team on a given day does not always win man! It's not unheard of that a team outplays its competition yet still loses a heart-breaker. Believe it or not that can happen even to the mighty Mayfield. Be happy with the win definitely, but you don't know a thing about the sport if you honestly think Mayfield played better overall than WB TODAY

 

Man... Chill out. You say tomato I say Tamato...I just say it with another state title. So you just think the better team had a better offense...I say the better team makes a team pay for mistakes. Who's to say what aspect makes the "better team"...I guess the scoreboard does.

Feel so bad for Williamsburg. They were the better team but turnovers and missed opportunities cost them.

Got to give Joe "Soup" Morris some credit for going 14-1 with such a young team. His call on the first play ultimately decided it. And he is now 84 - 6 in the last 6 yrs and 4 titles.

I would have to classify that under of "getting it done"!

Congrats to Mayfield on yet another state championship, Williamsburg played well enough to win this one... Very proud of my team and this group of Seniors, they just came up a little short...What a great game to witness, you had two pretty good teams going at it, in the end the turnovers and missed kicks were too much to overcome for the Jackets...You can't do that against good teams...

Ha ha I was thinking the exact same thing!

Some of you guys make it hard for me to be civil. It ain't about who does the most BETWEEN the goal lines. How about the time WB had 2nd and 2 from the 4 and we stuffed them on 3 plays. And after bright got burned to the 2 then we stuffed them again. Taking advantage of what the other team gives you is part of the game, PART of the game. Willamsburg was very, very good. And TODAY they were better BETWEEN the goal lines. We were better PAST the goal lines, by one play, but that's what matters in the end, PERIOD. We don't fold, we don't panic, and today we got the job done. Congrats to WB on a great year. Congrats to the Cardinals for the THREEPEAT!
