Why go through all the embarrassment and inconvenience that night and the next day?

Not sure...but why wouldn't she just give the police the phone number? I don't know her and you don't either. It could have been part of a scheme to get money from him...act like he raped you and you did not even know who he was until later...then accuse him.

I just cannot get past her not just giving the police his phone number. Why wouldn't she?? Makes no sense.

The woman's attorney, John Clune, issued a statement on Thursday in response:

"It apparently took about one hour for Mr. Winston and his lawyer to violate Justice Harding's confidentiality instructions by emailing out one of the exhibits to the media. Jameis Winston’s crude new recollection of events is as disgusting as it is implausible. He just keeps digging himself deeper. For now we will trust in the strength of our client’s repeated and consistent interviews. The time for Winston, [Chris] Casher, and [Ronald] Darby to fully explain this new story will come."

Have the two teammates who would have supported his version stated why they would refuse to testify at the hearing?

If they have, I haven't seen it anywhere.

Like you said, I don't know and neither do you or anyone else. There are a ton of unanswered questions on both sides that would seem to go a long way towards clearing up the matter. That's why I said the PD dropped the ball big time.

...or maybe they could not figure out why she did not give them the phone number and they began to see holes in her story.

I hate to be defending Winston because I am NOT a fan of his. I just cannot get around her saying she did not know who he was until a month later when he was a famous guy and she had his phone number...just does not pass the smell test to me.

Because he didn't really rape her...?

So she conspired to extort freshman Jameis Winston (who has not played a down of football at FSU) and bring down the FSU football program by getting really drunk, having sex with Winston, getting a ride home on a scooter, calling police a 3:22AM to report the rape, telling her friends she was raped, telling her parents she got drunk underage and was raped, and filed a police report, but didn't give the police his name although she knew who he was. That sounds plausible.

He was not famous. He had not played a down of football at FSU in 2012.

He had not played yet but he was still very well known at the campus. Please answer this for me...why didn't she give the police his phone number??? Everyone seems to be avoiding that question.

Almost as plausible as claiming not to know who he was in a place full of football players, after she exchanged names and put her number in his phone, texted him about being ready to leave, had sex with him INCLUDING being on top and then after all that NOT giving the police even his phone number...

Not to mention, she had his buddy's cell phone number too!

Has it been confirmed she had his number or are we going by his statement? As mentioned, that would have been the place to start that night.

Both stories have holes in them, both sides have a lot of "whys". I hope and have to believe that the judge, with everything in front of him/her from the police, the university and both sides, will make a proper ruling. At that point I hope all can put it behind them one way or the other.

According to him they were texting before leaving the establishment and going back to his place... Seems like that would be pretty easy to determine if it were true or not.

It's been basically accepted that they did not do so because of what everyone anticipates will happen, a civil trial. They already had submitted signed affidavits and previous testimony as to what happened and those were under oath under threat of perjury. The judge has access to all of that. So essentially testimony didn't change, no need to do anything else.

Yes. They stated through the attorney's that their previous statements remain unchanged and they exercised their right to refuse to testify in case it goes to civil court. I believe it was in the ESPN story when they reported they refused to testify.
