I've read both articles. The only issue I have with her is that she says she did not know who Winston was until a month later. I find that hard to believe. Also, both agree that he took her back to her place on a scooter and her place was not far away. Why couldn't she go back (with the police immediately) to where his apartment was and see who was in it? Or could they not have looked for the scooter??

 

Or was she so drunk that night that she just does not remember where he lived? But she was not drunk enough to know who he was a month later. That part just does not add up to me. I HATE these he said - she said things because there is just no way to know what happened that night. He could be a rapist getting away with it and she is a complete victim OR she could be an opportunist knowing he is famous and soon to be wealthy and is ruining his reputation...no way to know for sure.

 

Why would she know him? He was not yet the star quarterback when this happened and not everyone knows what the next great athlete looks like. She started new classes the following month and he was in the class.

 

Lot's of questions to be sure. I would think they could at least track down the girl with her in the bar to get her account. Not sure if that ever happened.

I disagree. You would be surprised how many people don't know who sports celebrities are. If you don't follow sports, you have no clue.

No, they don't. Daughter and two sons in college. They couldn't tell you who their star QB is if he sat next to them. They might know the name but not what he looks like.

I think the attitude shown on here that "everybody knows the sports stars" is probably why sports figures so often run into difficulties.

Why wait to name him? A month later he still wasn't the famous Jameis Winston of today.

Everyone in the state of Florida knew who Jameis Winston was before he stepped foot on that campus. I have a really hard time believing he was at Potbelly's and there wasn't a buzz in the air about Winston being there that night. He's arguably the most famous Seminole since Deion Sanders and I am including before he ever played a down of football for FSU. He was that big of a deal and that big of a recruit for FSU.

He plays baseball and football. I would be shocked if she didn't know he was an athlete. I would be even more shocked if she didn't look him up on Twitter and such knowing he was an athlete. Plenty of non-sports fans at major colleges know the athletes whether they are the star quarterback or not. Especially, a two sport freak athlete.
