Haven't seen alot of players in the state this year to comment on whether they are Mr. Football or not, but I have seen alot of the past Mr. Football players before they were Mr. Football and I must say Beau is every bit of Mr. Football as they were.

I agree on Hoge, in almost any other year, I would say he gets my vote but this year IMO there is someone who is special.

You give Harris the supporting cast that is at HHS and see what he does there.

 

What supporting cast did Beau have at HHS that Harris did not have at Madison Southern? Highlands was down this year according to many and were simply mediocre at best. Beau raised the level of play of this team as the season went along and he became more seasoned at the QB position. In fact, as someone told me last night, he was not even really cut loose until the second CovCath game for fear of being injured. It is his overall stats that jump off the page at you, but the kid has been a leader of this team and it was up to them to follow his lead as he lets his play do the talking for him. I am not an easily impressionable person by any means and Beau Hoge has impressed the heck out of me this year as a player and a leader. Beau Hoge for Mr. Football.

Harris played in 6 games and had 87 carries 1453 yards 16.7 average a carry 23 tds.

Team success has nothing to do with who is the best player in the state. Beau has a good resume for Mr. Football, but playing this weekend should not be a factor in who wins it.

I think it should be based on how the Heisman is chosen. How that player(s) performs against good to great competition. If Harris plays and puts up great numbers vs cupcake teams where as Hoge, Reese Ryan, Sindelar does the same but vs higher completion, then of course I would go with that theory. I understand he was hurt towards the end of the season and was not able to showcase his ability against top competition.

And that's what I meant when I posted #51. Great players performs vs. good to great team. If that's the case they you got my vote... But a great player like Harris his and puts up great numbers vs. cupcake teams, then I will vote for the ones that I mentioned before.

If that was the case, then it's wrong. It should go the best players, that has a winning team, puts up great number against good competition... But who am I to say I'm right.
