I actually agree ..but people insist it shouldn't be about the best player and should be about the best achievements.

 

If we are going based off of achievements Hatfield even has Hoge dead to rights.Not even Hoge can match the two rings Hatfield won as a starter, let alone back to back Finals MVP's :sssh:

 

To Me:

Best Player- Harris

Best Season- Sindelar

Best Career- Hatfield

Best Player on Best Team- Brooks

probably harris - but best I saw was Hoge. OHS stuffed them 3 times at the goal line and he takes the 4th and 1 goes wide - couple of great moves to get in the end zone. Then, best pass I've seen this year on 4th and 9...across the field, and 35 yds down field...had to be a 65 yd pass or more...he was a game changer and I think Oboro gets the W if it's not a tremendous performance by that young man. (and I'm sure he's done it all year)

Damien Harris just won the Paul Hornung award... guarantees nobody will sweep the big awards this year with Sindelar winning the Gatorade POY.

Harris wins it in my opinion. Madison Southern is a very average team without him and they probably don't win 3-4 games if he is not on the team.

What if I told you it's very possible HHS is 6-6 without Hoge.

Still think Beau Hoge showed a lot to the entire state on Saturday and he did that pretty much all year. Showed a great ability to run the ball after the reins were loosened a little in the playoffs. Understand he is fighting the bias because of where he plays and who he plays for, but IMO he is certainly worthy of strong consideration for this award if we are talking about 2014 and not what you have done in your career and where you have commited to attend college.
