November 24, 201411 yr Tired of being fined for no-showing interviews, Marshawn Lynch gave lots of one word replies, but did plug his charity in this exchange: Reporter: "You had those heating pads in your cleats?" Lynch: "I got a foundation dinner at the Edgewater (hotel), on Dec. 14, to help benefit inner city youth in Oakland. We are trying to raise money to build a youth center. So yeah." November 24, 201411 yr Author The only other answer that wasn't "yeah", "no", or "maybe": Lynch: Any questions about Lil' Boosie? We can talk about Lil' Boosie.
November 24, 201411 yr Do what you have to do to keep from getting fined. Whose it more awkward for him or the reporters at this point?
November 24, 201411 yr The Seahawks play at San Fran this Thursday. He should just answer every question with "we're on to San Francisco". Worked for Belichick and they cannot fine him.
November 24, 201411 yr The only other answer that wasn't "yeah", "no", or "maybe": Lynch: Any questions about Lil' Boosie? We can talk about Lil' Boosie. :lol2: That's awesome. It's stupid that they are forced to talk to media if they don't want to.
November 24, 201411 yr You're gonna have to learn your clichés. You're gonna have to study them, you're gonna have to know them. They're your friends. Write this down: "We gotta play it one day at a time."

November 24, 201411 yr Author My thing about all of this: Lynch will be villified, but when Popovich or someone does it, they get a pass and everyone talks about how hilarious it is.
November 24, 201411 yr My thing about all of this: Lynch will be villified, but when Popovich or someone does it, they get a pass and everyone talks about how hilarious it is. Will Lynch be vilified? I don't know why. I personally think it's funny and do not care. I'm far more annoyed by injury report shenanigans than I am this.
November 24, 201411 yr I'm conflicted on this. I don't like the media sometimes (ok, a lot of times) but these people have a job to do. It's part of the job. Be a professional and do YOUR job. Does anyone NOT have a part of their job that they don't like? Of course not, but you do it. You can argue the NFL rule--which I would--but until they change it, do your job. He should be fined again. There's a difference between answering a question in a word or two (Popovich) and not giving legitimate answers.

So he HAS to talk to the media, AND give them exactly the answers that someone else wants him to? Come on now...
November 24, 201411 yr Listening to athletes/coaches talk to the media is my least favorite thing about sports. 98% of the time it's useless.
