Was tonight a moral victory for Covington Catholic?

Featured Replies

If you are correct then I would look for a change.

A change? As in a change in coaching? Not going to happen with Wirth. Very good coach, teacher and man. Will staff or schemes change? Wirth has done it before so I don't see why it couldn't happen. He knows more than anyone so I'll trust that he makes the right decisions.

Talent is leveling out. JV and Frosh games have proven that the past few years.

I guess I always associate moral victories with less successful programs.

CCH couldn't be much less successful against Highlands in recent memory.

You really think they walked off the field thinking man we did great almost had them?? Are you kidding me.l?!?!?!?!?!?!? They walked off the field upset off with tears in their eyes.

I don't get why people get so upset with the "moral victory" question. My guess is deep down everyone of those CCH boys walked off the field feeling a lot better about themselves than they did in September. That might fall under "moral victory" and there's nothing wrong with that. They SHOULD feel better about themselves.

THIS!

True, still would bet my bottom dollar that few of them consider it a moral victory. Might be to some non CCH fans.

The Colonels came back and only lost by 3, is it a moral victory for the Colonels?

Any changes on the horizon in Park Hills?

By the looks and expressions of the CovCath kids after the game I will say definitely NO...

Aint taking no moral victory back to Park Hlls, they were there to win and anything less is not acceptable...:thumb:

This X 1000

??????

As Sweep likes to say, this is another "mediocre" team. Lol!

This is a direct quote from Coach Wirth to Coach Weinrich on Wed this week regarding Highlands safety Andrew Abner who suffered an season ending injury in the final seconds of the Elder game.

"Tell Abner I said good luck with surgery. He's a hell of a player. I'd rather play you guys with him than without, if that makes any sense"

A class act guy and good man that respects his opponent...this is the kind of guy that I would let my son play for and the CovCath folks should be patient with this man

To the haters of Coach Wirth...you should have learned something by running off Coach Brossart...Just sayin :thumb:

Without being there or seeing anything about te game outside of BGP final thread, this is a moral victory. But moral victorys mean nothing.

Really Ru?

A couple in I see.

Clyde agrees so take that.

True' date=' still would bet my bottom dollar that few of them consider it a moral victory. [/quote']

Then what else do they have to go on/build on?

I look at this way... would CovCath rather go into off season conditioning and spring practice coming off of a hard fought loss or off of another beat down by the Birds?

A close loss can give you something to build on and use to motivate you in the off season...another beat down leaves you demoralized and wondering if you can ever beat them.

Admit it or not this is more of a moral victory than a demoralizing loss.
