November 18, 201411 yr Nobody ever said building Kentucky Football was going to be easy. Brooks only won 9 games in 3 years before turning UK in the right direction, Stoops has 7 in 2 years so far.
November 18, 201411 yr Stoops has done a heck of a job. The last few weeks have proven that UK is still far away from being an SEC team in the trenches. No amount of coaching can fix that.
November 18, 201411 yr UK has 4-5 DL that play consistently, most teams will have 6-8 that they can rotate in on packages. At LB they struggle to even have 3 guys that can play in the SEC. And the starting CBs are terrible let alone deep. Early in the season you can get away with it, but there is a certain point where the miles catch up with you, and that's what UK ran into against UGA and UT. It's just not there yet, and I believe they red shirted a good number of the guys they signed last year, so maybe next year they can have a little more depth.
November 18, 201411 yr Isn't UT playing more freshmen than anyone in the country? They didn't look "tired"...
November 18, 201411 yr Isn't UT playing more freshmen than anyone in the country? They didn't look "tired"... Every team is tired and beat up 2 months into the year. Everyone is searching for answers when it's right in front of them. It's still a bad football team playing the toughest opponents on their schedule in the 2nd half.
November 18, 201411 yr Isn't UT playing more freshmen than anyone in the country? They didn't look "tired"... Dunno if they are or aren't, but I imagine given the fact they always have solid recruiting classes it wouldnt matter as much as say a school like Kentucky.

They are undefeated, but does that make them the best team in the country? Seriously doubt it.
November 18, 201411 yr Isn't UT playing more freshmen than anyone in the country? They didn't look "tired"... They came off a bye week... That was UKs 8th straight game
November 18, 201411 yr Dunno if they are or aren't, but I imagine given the fact they always have solid recruiting classes it wouldnt matter as much as say a school like Kentucky. Dooley left that roster in shambles. Hence playing more true freshmen than anyone in the country by Jones... :thumb:

November 18, 201411 yr So UK should have no excuses against Louisville... Nope, I don't think UK will win for one. UKs defense will stop whatever offense UK has, so all UL has to do is score 14 and I think they win.
November 18, 201411 yr If you told me before the season that Kentucky would get 5 wins, including a win over South Carolina, I would have said "I'll take it." Their 5 wins came early, though, so expectations increased. I'm not upset that they've lost a few in a row, but the manner in which they've lost has been frustrating. With that said, I keep resorting to my pre-season thoughts: 5 wins is progress. Exactly my thoughts.
November 18, 201411 yr Really Marshall to an SEC team? You said everyone is tired and beat up, you never said you were implying its just sec teams. That would be a different story, since Kentucky is near the bottom in depth.
November 18, 201411 yr UK's weak first half schedule and one electric night against a .500 South Carolina set them up for this meltdown. It is still a work in progress, Stoops needs more time to get more quality players in the system. The 2nd half of the schedule showed how wide the talent gap still is. They still have a chance to beat UL and go to a bowl, we will see how well he can motivate his team over the next few weeks.
