Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel meant no disrespect when he previously called Tea Party members “white crackers” — he says it was actually a compliment.

 

The longtime Capitol Hill Democrat said Monday that he thought cracker “was a term of endearment” and was puzzled by the firestorm that his use of the term in a 2013 interview set off.

 

In a chat with the Huffington Post on Monday, Rangel offered a half-hearted apology for using the word when comparing the Tea Party to Jim Crow segregationists.

The guy has been able to get away with boldface dishonesty for years, why stop now?

But he is. If you have ever followed him and seen some of his ignorant speeches on capital hill you will know he is as ignorant as they come but unfortunately he isn't alone up there. This may offend some and I apologize but it is only meant to show the type of people we have in Washington but I swear I think there are some congressmen and women who ran and got elected simply because their constigents are in bad economic areas and they haven't had any formal

education themselves. We could go in and on and play clips of congressman saying he thinks and island is going to tip over etc. Plenty of idiotic people in congress.

We all know how endearing Tea Party members are to Rangel.

He's an well educated fella ........ compared to Sheila Jackson Lee or Joselyn Elders .

Why is it whenever I see Rangel, I think "term limits"?????

 

He has to be about 85, right? He has had his share of ethics issues too. He just needs to go...

He uses the phrase "white" crackers. What other type of crackers are there other than white ones? LOL
