You can say this is just a message board , but these games have been covered better on BGP than you will see in any paper. So, if the common theme in each Scott game thread is good talent coupled with atrocious behavior and tactics, I'm going to believe they are also the instigators in most cases.

I'm pretty sure the Scott team bus knocked off a gas station and ran over a little old lady on the way out of the parking lot.

Well Bobby, if Scott's team ever gets past purgatory, they will get to meet your Holy Trinity Saints...you know the team that was sent straight to soccer heaven by those dirty Scott Devils....this is nothing but sour grapes. Like it or not, it's a man's game, played by very young men who play their hearts out. The reality of THE GAME is that to be successful, you have to be tough. I don't know what the final tally in fouls/yellows was for the game, but it was pretty darn rough on both sides. BG had better control of the ball, more overall talent, and made more plays. Pretty simple. Don't turn the Scott kids into anything more than players with passion....

Soccer is a man's game! Agreed, now lets talk about the definition of a man. A man holds himself with honor, dignity and character and treats other with respect. I would rather lose with character and dignity than win with any of those compromised. There is more to life than wins and losses. Ultimately, sports should teach the highest ideals and form men of character.

Way to go Purples! :dancingpa

This team was in the Final 4 last year and dedicated themselves to come back this year and go a bit further! Great Win! State Champs! :)

Can you still watch a replay of this game?

Yep. Go to KHSAA site. In all it's glory.

Interesting that anyone in N. Ky. would be surprised by this game or how Scott played. Redneck, hack team and they have been that way the last few years. 3 reds in a state final? What an embarassment. Congrats to BG. Glad they won.

You know that BG had 2, right? So maybe your statement should have been "5 reds in a state final? What an embarrassment." PS, 2 r's in embarrassment. Is 2.5 reds the tipping line of acceptable to embarrassment?

He actually said this was the worst defensive performance of the year.... did not want to point any fingers... and then blamed it on the calls not being consistent. I will at least give him credit for having an interesting take on things.

I think he should consider watching the tape.

The Courier-Journal quote is edited, as denoted with "...":

"“This was our worst defensive performance all season,” coach Anderson Dahlian said. “Not to point any fingers, but it had a lot to do with the callings and not being consistent. Our kids just lost focus, and tonight (Bowling Green) was the better team.”"

The full quote from wcpo.com here:

"“We were still pretty positive and confident, because we always come out with a better second half,” said Anderson, “and this has been the worst second half all season. As a matter of fact this has been the worst defensive performance all season. Not to point any fingers, but it had a lot to do with the calls and not being consistent. However that is the official. He calls it as he sees it. Our kids, we just lost focus pretty much and tonight they were the better team.”"

Just to be fair, that's not putting it all at the ref's feet. "worst second half", "worst performance all year", "we just lost our focus", "they were the better team" isn't blaming the refs. That's the C-J saving column space for the print edition.

I didn't want to forget to congratulate the Bowling Green Purples for their victory in a well played, hard fought match last night. Enjoy the well deserved moment, and retaining the title of being the only non-Lex/Lou team to win it all.

To the Scott Eagles, congratulations in getting to the state final, going further than any previous Scott soccer team has been, as well as a new mark for wins in a season (21-3-1).

Then why mention them? Sorry, not buying that.

^^^^^^because that is his MO^^^^^ Just like he complains to the refs continuously on every call that doesn't go his way.

Has the KHSAA hidden the link to show ejections/DQs? I used to be able to find it pretty easily but now I can't see it.

Looks like they moved it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I think All Tell finds Scott losing a little comical. Hehe

imsays,

Are you going to tell us that the Scott coach is the only coach to argue calls made on the field? To suggest that is his MO is a joke. I was at the match and could tell you the Bowling Green coach had several questions concerning calls made on the field. Really....Really....Really.... And guss what I'm not calling him out why you ask because he was coaching his team in a State Final I would expect him to be working the refs

If your going to call a coach out then call all soccer coaches out because I haven't seen a match this year including matches where Scott wasn't playing where coaches weren't complaining or working the refs.
