New Teams in SEC?

Featured Replies

If the SEC was looking to add some new teams to their football conference, who would you like to see them add?

Myself, I'd like to see Ohio State and Michigan and/or Michigan State added to it. Possibly Boise State as well.

This is the SOUTHEastern Conference... I would bet Virginia Tech would be considered along with either UNC or NC State so they would have a team in every southern state. Maybe another Florida team instead North Carolina.

Florida State and Texas would be the two targets, IMO.

Most of the conference expansions have been about increasing the "footprint" of the conference, i.e. adding a state that they don't already have. I agree with D-Rob, they'd shoot for teams like UNC (who'd never do it) and Virginia/Virginia Tech (who might) first.

I also don't think Florida is in support of FSU coming to the SEC.

I'd like to see any of the following; UNC, Duke, Virginia Tech, FSU, Texas or Baylor... In reality, I'd say expansion is done for a while.

I would like to see Virginia Tech as well. Also, maybe Miami (FL), I think they could hold their ground in a few games.

I'd like to see Clemson and Texas join. But, If you add teams I'd say get rid of divisions like bball. Rotate opponents every other year.

I'd love to see OSU in the SEC. That would be an automatic win for all the current teams.

What? You think those first 3 are leaving the Big 10?

Boise State? What on Earth?

No way FSU goes to the SEC. That would be stupid on their part.

Virginia Tech and NC State would be the next 2 if it happened.

I think Virginia Tech for the DC market and how the school fits in with the rest of the conference in terms of culture as a whole (fans, academics, etc.). If the SEC wanted to go all out football, they should swing for the fences, add Texas and Oklahoma, then call it a day. There are as many Oklahoma fans in Dallas as there are Texas fans (closer to OU than Austin). Texas is the biggest brand in college sports. Add those two to the West, realign the East with maybe Alabama and Auburn, then the SEC basically runs college football and no one else would even come close.

The SEC already runs college football and nobody else comes close. :lol2:
