Simon Kenton Locker Room Fire?

Featured Replies

I have no doubt that the local communities will come through and help out the pioneers! I'm sure the parents will be on all night duty getting equipment and what not together so the boys can play and the Seniors can enjoy Senior night. Hope it all works out for them.

Just got on twitter SK players tweeting they are going to wear CovCath and Beechwood equipment helmets.

SK is playing a non district game. IMO they shouldn't rush into this one or possibly play it at all.

Move game to Saturday.

I also heard electrical fire. Thank god no one was injured.

It's their senior night.

1) Really glad it appears nobody was injured.

2) I'm very happy to see CCH and Beechwood step up to help.

This is absolutely horrible! Truly feel horrible for all the kids, but especially the seniors. Glad no one was hurt...but what terrible timing for the poor kids. Don't need this kind of distraction. Hope is works out for them. I'm sure someone or some organization will step up and make it right.

Kuddos to Cov Cath and Beechwood for the temporary help!!!

That's awesome to hear other schools are pitching in to help. That's what it's about.

Are freshman and varsity housed seperate? Freshman had everything. Maybe some can be used tomorrow?

They should definitely play, but it might be better to move the game to Saturday if at all possible so the equipment is all fitted properly and all loose ends are tied up.

Also, kudos to Covington Catholic and Beechwood for helping out the folks at Simon Kenton. I hate it for the players and staff that they have lost everything in the fire.

Memories of the fire thirty-some years ago at the school. Followed by a state basketball championship.

Kudos to the schools that have already volunteered to help out!

Thanks to Scott, Campbell Co, and Boone Co for their help also. My son said they will look like skittles but they are going to play. New equipment should be in early next week.

My son just came home from walk throughs. Equipment is coming in from schools all over NKY. He has already been fitted for Helmet & shoulder pads. I hear they plan on wearing all the helmets as they are, with the team stickers on them to show appreciation of the different schools coming together to support them. Lots of shoes, gloves and under armor lost that can all be replaced. The personnel stuff, some of them have had in their lockers or they have wore every game day is what can't be replaced. Thank goodness for no injuries.

That is really neat. Will they all have the same color jersey on? I would imagine they'll have to in order keep the confusion to a minimum.

Thank goodness no one was injured. What time of day did this occur?

Thanks to the many football programs that have supported SK in our tragic loss of equipment. We are grateful to you all for stepping up so quickly and helping us out. We will be representing each of your teams at our game Friday by wearing your markings. Thank you again!!!
