I can't blame him for asking as they have a good coach or two in those Jr. Football ranks. However the boys get so much better along the way, I know you have witnessed that first hand!! The growth of a football player!!!

 

Absolutely. Development of a player starts with great coaching. We all know the level of success at the younger ages doesn't always translate to a great varsity team. Now, yes, when the kids win at the younger levels of frosh and JV, they and their parents get excited because of what they perceive as an automatic successful Senior year. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. You definitely cant use the level of success from the 8th graders because of the structure of league. As you know. The other levels, have some really good athletes that will need to play bigger roles to meet theirs and everyone's expectations of what defines a successful year in Ft Thomas. I have no doubt they will do that.

Seems kind of early to ask! Its only half way through the current season and I would probably have waited till at least after this weekends Highlands/Cov CAth game to see if Cov Cath should be included in the equation.

 

Absolutely CCH should be included in the equation. They are and will be the team to beat the next 3-4 years without question.

BG fans crack me up, tell me again about all of the Championships you guys won when Highlands and CovCath were in your class last time? It was only once, so it shouldn't be a real long story.

Well, BG did win 1 of their 4 championships with Highlands in the same class. Matter of fact they beat Highlands in that game.

About the only folks that make predictions of how great the varsity team will be when the current class of 8th graders make it to varsity are the way over the top parents of the 8th graders!

I agree, that's why I didn't answer. I just didn't think that the question was worthy of mocking. He wasn't trolling. Seemed like he genuinely wanted to know. His answer is unknowable for sure.

Not sure why you guys took my question the way you did. Simply interested in how you think the upcoming classes of players look in your opinion. No hidden agendas, just curious. If you don't want to answer or don't know answer, no biggie.

You never know who will come from the NKYFL. Highlands has had a lot of good players come from there. May even get some surprise kids from the Junior High League, so who knows.

Highlands and Covington Catholic will be in the east, along with teams such as Anderson County, Madison Southern, Pulaski County, Southwestern and Harlan County.

 

Bowling Green will be in the west with Christian County, Owensboro, the Bullitts, Oldham and South Oldham, and a handful of Louisville schools.
