UK was to much for the bobcats with a smashing run game. But Towle used his legs and his arms to destroy the bobcats D. Now onto gainsville. UK 2-0 Bobcats 1-1 for the season so far.

Very sloppy offensive game today for the Cats.

 

Dropped passes (Borden TD catch was bad), missed blocks, mis-communication on routes, etc.

 

What's up with the kicking game? Makes a 33, and 53, misses 28, and a 30ish one.

 

 

Running game still looked good, offensive line looked good at times.

 

 

Towles sacked 6 times today.

 

 

Some positives and some more negatives....

Wow, the Cats won. This does nothing to prepare them for SEC play. Jim and I are really worried about the future of the UK football program.

Offense was out of sync once the weather got bad. Could be a good thing as it brought them back to Earth after the 59 point performance. Stoops will have them ready for the Swamp.

Weather didn't get bad until the fourth, and after the first qtr they looked out of sync. It was almost like they exhaled after the first two TD drives.

 

 

I overall liked they way they looked.

Towles took a lot of hits today. Too many sacks. Back to back to back runs.

Now yes the game ended up poor at the end and the O line seemed to let alot of runners come in. But I hand it to Towles to not to turn and run but instead to keep his eyes down field and looking. I am not worried I believe after film and pracice we will be ready for UFL.

I still hate UK's offense & question the play-calling. How do you let Towles carry it 22 times?

I think that this game showed that they still have a long way to go, but still you have to be optimistic when you see all the true freshman that are making plays and contributing. The future looks bright, just need to get some experience and build some more depth.

Very good win for the Cats and coach Stoops. U.K. had to have this one. Next week brings the Cats back to reality. Hopefully can come out of the Florida game with no one hurt and make a run at Vandy.

I wondered the same about Towles running the ball so much. That's an excellent way to see how well the backup qb plays / runs the team bc they will be carrying Towles off the field. VS. UT-Martin, Ohio you may get away with it....not in conference.

I agree that you can't have PT running the ball that much, he'll get hurt eventually in SEC play.
