If money were no object what kind of house and where would you want your Dream House located? I know we all have Dream Houses now, so let's rule them out.

 

I would want a three bedroom upscale condo overlooking Pebble Beach's 18th hole and the Pacific. I don't want too much house, but enough room for family and friends to visit.

I'm pretty damn fond of Kentucky, and I think I'd have a REALLY tough time leaving the Bluegrass State. That being said, I think I'd like a historic home, probably either a not-too-flashy Victorian or an American Craftsman house. 4 or 5 bedrooms. It would have to have a nice big front porch, big enough to have a porch swing and to have 7 or 8 folks sitting on the porch at one time. My parents' house has a front porch with a swing and a nice big Norway Maple in the front yard, and it's absolutely heaven to sit out there on a nice spring or fall evening...and during thunderstorms too. My house would need some big mature trees out front too - cottonwood, oak, sycamore, elm...something like that. I think in an ideal world, I'd want to have the house located on a river too, or at least a lake, and it'd have to have a yard big enough for kids to play ball in.

I've always wanted some sort of a mountain stronghold where I could live like a Bond villain and plot the demise of Randy Parker. I think the Swiss Alps would serve me well in that respect.

I think I would want a California ranch between LA and San Francisco somewhere within view of the ocean. It would have a pool and a gym with big windows next to the pool where I could look towards the Pacific to the west while I exercised. The house could be large enough to accomodate visitors, ie. kids/grandkids and not be crowded. I would have fencing and a barn and a lot of areas to ride trail. There would be no rattlesnakes and the mountain lions live in the next county.

Somewhere on the coast of northern California, in or around Cape Mendocino. And the house wouldn't need to be very big, but it would need a nice porch to sit out on and read while watching the sun set.

I'm never leaving Kentucky.

 

And I'm not picky about a dream house. I just want a large office/library type of room & then a huge basement with a top of the line entertainment center.

I don't want a huge house. A 4 bedroom craftsman with an open floor plan and waterfront acreage would be nice, preferably ocean front. A nice sized playroom for the kids and one for the adults. It must have at least a 3 car garage, because kids' toys take up 1 garage area. A nice large level area for our pickup wiffle ball and soccer games. A boat dock would be nice too.

Not that you have thought about it....but how would you heat the house? It gets somewhat chilly in Montana in the winter.

5 Bedroom (need 4 extra for when the kids visit and bring their kids)

Drive down Windsor. Runs between Bardstown Rd and Baxter. If you're going in town on Bardstown, it's on your left with Enterprise on the corner. All the homes have double lots and the most amazing Craftsman homes I've ever seen in one neighborhood.
