Mr. lawildcat and I always talk about moving to Augusta some day when all the kids are out of the house. He would prefer Colorado but I don't want to leave KY either. I don't need a big house and don't have any special requests except a wrap around porch. Oh, and maybe close to the Clooneys so when George visits, I can sit on my porch and dream. :jump:

I lived out west in the Rockies during my formative years. There were a lot of creative heating methods including very efficient whole-home fireplace systems, which I would guess you have seen as well. I love it out there, but it can be pretty disconcerting to be in some areas where you can figure there are probably only a handfull or so of people within a days drive of you. You can REALLY be alone.

Yellow brick. I know this house well. I know ALL the houses on Windsor well. I used to walk down that street every day with my LuckyDog. Walked in the alleys behind the houses, and it is my favorite street in Louisville, in terms of a place I may ever realistically be able to live. And then there's Cherokee Parkway and Cherokee Road. :lol2:

Substitute Flathead Lake for the Powder River, and you've got it pretty much nailed. Won't necessarily be a ranch per se, being in the mountains though.

I'm a big fan of a lot of the houses on Windsor. Great street. Great location.

I enjoy simplicity. Something like this tiny house would suit me fine.

 

Less is more.

 

Where this guy has a ton of books on his shelves, I'd likely fill them up with my music collection, and whereas he seems to have a ton of glassware, I'd likely try to be more practical with what I stored in those spaces.

 

Perhaps not so primitive of plumbing as he has in his kitchen.

 

After that, location would be the biggest concern.

 

Firstly, I'd like to be located in a safe clean neighborhood with nice big old trees and green grass with civilized neighbors who are tidy and care about cleanliness all within a town where the general populace is of decent sound mind and friendly, as if they were raised with good sense.

 

No need for uppitiness, but still at least a sense of class and decent manors, and fairly close to a better Krogers than I am located now.

 

The Krogers near me now is without a doubt the absolute worst one you will find anywhere within the entire state of Kentucky. Because of that I avoid it at all cost and must drive a little further to shop where the other shoppers are not so unruly and threatening.

 

Where I'd locate this tiny home too would be in an area where my normal navigating around the town would never bring me anywhere near the types of people who shop at my local Krogers, because although I don't shop there I still run across them way too frequently through the city streets while I'm driving, and because of that must always be on guard and stay alert for irresponsible motorists and pedestrians who act as if they don't have a lick of sense in their heads.
