Tough loss for Ashland. However, the truth is that neither a missed foul shot nor a phantom no call beat them. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Matt Thomas shoot three foul shots at the end. I would have bet that he would have hit all three. Without his play in the district, Ashland might well have not been playing last night. Overall, with Elliott County's poor play in the first half and Ashland's nice lead in the third quarter, the game was Ashland's to win or lose and, for a number of reasons, they lost.

 

No one has pointed out that, as usual, Elliott County was led by three ninth graders. That is something for Ashland and other 16th Region teams to think about.

Ashland was peaking at the right time and playing good ball. The streak had to end sometime. To bad it happend in Morehead. If I remember, there was another team that started eighth & ninth graders that give the Tomcats a fit. Are they noot going to schedule Elliott Co. for the next 5 yrs ???????

Rose Hill may have given Ashland fits.To Ashlands credit, all that really matters is that Rose Hill was setting in the stands at Morehead watching Elliott give Ashland fits.

And this will more than likely the last year that RH will be in the stands and not on the floor. You remember when W was reelected don't you? I believe the chant was"4 more years! 4 more years!

Who knows if this will happen or not. RH seems to have some issues with keeping thier kids there....when...um...maybe better offers come along...or whatever.....

Comparing apples and oranges in my opinion. OJ's mom wasn't the AD and his father was assistant coach. Plus the current group of kids at Rose Hill have been at the school for sometime now. I suppose anything could happen but I really believe that the kids that are there will be there. The important thing to remember is that Euton's dad is sleeping with the AD.

You're right we'll see. But if this class stays together you may see RH and Elliott battling it out for next few years with the other schools in the stands. With regards to RH losing kids, Mostof the other area schools have benefitted from RH getting them basketball ready. You can poke jabs at RH all you want, but they have played the role of prep school for a couple of regional qualifiers this season,,,,just check the rosters and see how many former Royals have already participated in this regional tournament.:thumb:
