Multiple ordering at Subway/Chipotle

Featured Replies

I stood in line at Chipotle this evening probably 10 people back and watched as a young woman held up the line reading orders off of a piece of notebook paper. There were atleast 5 separate orders on there and she could care less about the folks behind her in line. The line grew considerably probably by another 10 customers.

She kept screwing up the order because she couldn't communicate it correctly or had trouble reading the orders. What made it worse is she paid for each order separately. This is one of my worst pet peeves. It happens at Subway as well.

People should try faxing in your order or call it in beforehand. Its the courteous thing to do. I was so mad I took a photo of the self centered lady.

So I got up to the lady taking my order and real loud I said I have 8 separate orders...the girl's jaw dropped. LOL I said...JK.

That's a serious violation of burrittiquette.

I hate that as well...makes me very mad!

Since Subway is awful, you could avoid this problem by never going, like I do. Never been to Chipotle, so I can't comment on the place.

It's exactly like if you wrapped heaven in a warm tortilla and you could have it by exchanging six or seven American dollars.

You always seem to get those people right when you're in a hurry too.

Would it have made you feel better if those 5 people were in line in front of you? She saved gas and time for several folks. That being said, my guess is that she couldn't read her own writing and took longer than she should have for each order. Whether it is a person that orders for many, or just that idiot that can't decide what they want and takes forever to order is what bugs me.

Serves you right for going to such a disgusting establishment in the first place. :D

Seriously though, if I were a place that allowed the faxing/call ahead orders like they do, there's no way I'd allow a walk-in to place multiple orders.

Like mentioned earlier in the thread. When taking Chipotle to go, order online. You get to walk in, skip the line and get out. Very convenient.

Wouldn't it have been just as easy to have it all written down and hand them the paper?

So you would turn down a paying customer with a huge order in your business? I get what you are meaning but it is a fine line here...you take care of your customers in the order they arrive that way the only person the others are mad at is the inconsiderate customer...not your business.

Maybe as a business you could have a separate line/window/register for multi-orders, that would be a better solution than turning customers away.

Along the same lines I hate ordering for multiple people in a drive thru.

What is the stat? A satisfied company tells 3 people... A unsatisfied customer tells 30?
