Multiple ordering at Subway/Chipotle

Featured Replies

I went to Chipotle last night 3 people were in line in front of me. 2 girls and a guy. The two girls where college age and must have been ordering for their whole sorority or something. Each girl ordered at least 6 or 7 seperate things while looking through various texts on their phones to get the orders right. I was pretty irritated and should have photo shamed them too. I thought I'd be in and out in 2 minutes but instead it was more like 20.

Go somewhere else then. They have the right to order as much as they want.

People have the "right" to do all kinds of things, that doesn't make them polite or socially acceptable.

Why is it not socially acceptable, im a customer, I have orders i want to place and spend my money in said establishment. Why should it matter how much I order.

Because the assembly-line isn't designed to efficiently handle multiple orders and it backs up the line behind you, which is especially inconsiderate when they couldn't make it more convenient to order online or by phone if you have multiple orders.

In the olden days, or in the south where people are polite, they would have said ' I have a large order, if you'd like to go in front of me that would be perfectly fine.' Then you have the choice of going along if you are in a hurry or waiting your turn.

The Chipolte on line ordering is super easy.

I'm with plantmanky on this one. If I get caught behind this situation, I chalk it up to my bad luck. The only way I might get bent out of shape is if the person with the large order is smug about it and has an attitude relishing in making the rest of us wait.

What if the big order was already started? Why stop in the middle to change things.

Also, I look at these situations as a test for the restaurant, a good one, can pull this off quickly, efficiently and accurately even if the order person is a tad "slow" if you will.

If the restaurant cant handle it, maybe you should go there to begin with.

New faces weekly at all of the restaurants we frequent for lunch. I'm not holding out any hope that the folks in the restaurant will find a solution for these issues.

An assembly line is perfectly designed to handle multiple orders which is why that model is being used in a fast foot restaurant; I would guess it's manpower that is lacking in these situations.

There should be a law, no more than 5 orders from each person.

I don't like the people that pull up to the Wendy's drive thru and scream at the speaker to hold on while they figure out what they want. It's Wendy's for goodness sake. If you don't know what you want, pull out of the way and figure it out. I know what I want and you're ticking me off...

Not at all. You follow your order down the line and order as you go. If you have a bunch of orders then the assembly-line grinds to a stop as each person on the line has to wait for you to finish and move down. It ruins the efficiency.

Now if you ordered the entire thing at once and it was just assembled in a line it would be different. But those places are extremely slow compared to Chipotle. California Tortilla takes at least ten minutes to get your order out and if they are busy then you can forget about quick.

Since Subway is awful, you could avoid this problem by never going, like I do. Never been to Chipotle, so I can't comment on the place.

Subway is awful in my opinion..Chipotle is just ok..I can take it or leave it.
