Movie Scenes That Brought You To Tears/Choked You Up

Featured Replies

Movie scenes that brought you to tears. Maybe you've seen them enough to no longer shed them, but you are still moved (& maybe choke up just a little).

The first ones that come to mind:

To Kill A Mockingbird - the ending

"Miss Jean Louise, Mr. Arthur Radley. I believe he already knows you."

"Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a knife, and our lives."

Still gets me.

Saving Private Ryan

-the beginning & ending scenes at the cemetery: "Tell me I'm a good man"

-delivering the telegrams

We Were Soldiers Once

-taxis & telegrams

Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: I'll never forgive myself.

Joe Galloway: For what, Sir.

Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: That my men - that my men died and I didn't.

Joe Galloway: Sir, I don't - I don't know how to tell this story.

Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: Well you got to Joe. You tell the American people what these men did here. You tell them how my troopers died.

Actually, it was hard typing these.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

Ernie Bishop: Just a minute! Quiet everybody! Quiet, quiet. Now get this, it's from London.

Ma Bailey: Oh!

Ernie Bishop: [Reading the telegram in his hand] Mr. Gower cabled you need cash, stop. My office instructed to advance you up to twenty-five thousand dollars, stop. Hee Haw and Merry Christmas! Sam Wainwright.

When Rudy finally takes the field

Marley and Me-The end

I Am Sam-pretty much the whole thing

Mystic River-When he finds out his daughter is the body in the park

The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood-all the scenes involving the mother.

Hoosiers, the locker room scene and when Jimmy hits the shot

The end of "Philadelphia" when they're showing home movies of Tom Hanks' character as a child.

ET goes home.

End of Schindler's List.

Very last scene of Billy Elliot.

I was sobbing uncontrollable. I waited until the theater cleared out before I left, I was so embarrassed.

A recent one that got me, we watched "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" on Netflix...wow

EXCELLENT movie.

Old Yeller, anyone?

The Scene in Heaven is Real where the little boy is talking about meeting his sister in heaven that had died in is mom's tummy. We've had two miscarriages and the thought's that we could have two more children waiting in Heaven was pretty over whelming.

Old Yeller, anyone?

Oh yeah...throwin' way back...but yes...
