The Panthers have struggles all year outside of their division, but something inside me wants to tell me that Penick could, just could, take over this game.

CCH wins because they ripped apart the only team that really poses a threat to them besides Highlands and if CCH plays like they did against Holmes, Highlands won't put up much of a fight. If CCH plays like they did against Holmes they should breeze through. But if they combine the guard play from the Holy Cross game and the big men play from the Holmes game, the state had better watch out!

I'll agree with your premise, but "the only team that posed a threat" wasn't Holmes, but Holy Cross at home!! That will be their closest game in the district/region!!

And from HD's post--Please!! "Holmes plays together as a team"????

I think it's CovCath's to lose.

Why?..... I will give you the fact that they are playing the best right now but when it is tournament time....throw all the records out the door. Go Birds....whoever comes to play and makes the least mistakes will win this tournament.

Are you kidding me? Anything could happen but they have not shown me that they can beat a team outside the Class A division and Highlands has played a phenomenal schedule like Cov Cath. Ludlow gets their one shining moment and then its over.

Well anything can happen. I mean in baseball when we beat CovCath in 2004 we hadn't shown anyone all year that we could beat a good team, but well we went in there and knocked them off 8 to 5 and that team that was suppose to be the 10th best team in the state and we knocked them off in the first round in the district on their own home field. So anything can happen. I know I wish the Panthers and Coach Highfield the best of luck I know I will be rooting for them.

So Im not so sure you should be coming out and just saying stuff like that so certainly, but hey maybe you will be as right about this as you were about the draw for the region being on sunday. :sssh:

Does it matter when they draw? I mean really? I was only going off of how they used to do it. Let it go.... good luck to your Panthers..I would be rooting for them if they werent playing the Birds...but I just dont see them advancing, sorry.

I know it will be a VERY tough task but it could happen. Especially since the panthers have Penick on their team and he could cause alot of problems for Highlands if he stays down low, not to mention there other 6ft. 6 starter Justin Hardin. I know it will be a tough task and they will have to do everything right to win, but its possible and Im sure Coach Highfield will have the team prepared the best he can to pull off this upset.

I have to take CCH right now. Looks like they are clicking at the right time.

Homes will be lucky to make it past the NCC/Conner winner!

Is CovCath capable of stringing great games together without a fizzle game?

Will Highlands draw benefit them or hurt them in thier prep for CCH?

I am pulling for the Birds in this Region, but as we have seen the last month anything is possible in the 9th. If the Birds can get a good solid start against CCH and match them offensivly, they are without a doubt more physical and possibly because of their win earlier in the season psychologically stronger as well. Time will tell. GO BIRDS?

CCH is the favorite at this time. Last night in the first half, Holmes looked decent at best, and played a very poor second half... credit to CCH. Highlands shouldn't have trouble with their side, but its March, and anything can happen. Same with CCH's side, but they have more close games on their side. It will be interesting, but i think CCH can definitely win and if not... Highlands.

Take it easy man. Your reeling off baseball scores to prove a point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even gryche :sssh: ;)

Yeah, anything could happen. I'd love to see Ludlow upset the Birds. Y'know, pigs could fly too if they had wings.

Im sure people were laughing like that when anyone would have suggested Ludlow ever beating CovCath in baseball too. All Im saying is that there is a chance because Ludlow really could cause Highlands some problems if they play the way they are capable of.

Baseball and basketball are two VERY VERY different sports... on any given night the Tampa Bay Devil Rays can beat the White Sox, Yankees, Red Sox, etc.. but in basketball this just isn't the case, as I would venture to say that if Heritage played Holmes 100 times Holmes would beat them 100 times.... I saw Penick against Dixie and he seemed very over-rated, if you are 6'9'' there is no need to hang out on the perimeter against 6'1 6'2 and 6'3 guys.. they keep it within 10-15 if he plays inside all night, if not, say goodnight in the first quarter...
