August 20, 201412 yr So, you'll get off at an exit, and then get right back on, just to try and leapfrog the traffic that's under the overpass? Used to use that move all the time on 275E at the Dixie ramp. I could make up 10-12 cars that way on some days. Since I was usually going on 75S after that, it didn't really hurt anybody and was more of a way of getting in position to exit.

They actually put up something to prohibit people from doing this at Buttermilk, which used to happen ALL THE TIME.
August 21, 201412 yr Ok. Power is out at the intersection of 275 and KY 17. Traffic coming off 275 going south on KY17 going one car at a time. With no power, the traffic lights are out, obviously. While these jokers are sitting there, cars are also turning left onto 275 East. Six cars could make right turns after the normal southbound traffic has cleared the intersection. Common sense was clearly absent. I hope those people were going to Taylor Mill or Ft. Wright.

August 22, 201412 yr Ok I have vented a couple of other times on BGP about this but what right does a Off Duty Police Officer have to speed whenever he/she wants? This morning on my way to work while driving on I-471 a Ludlow Police Officer blew by me like I was standing still. Hmmmmm, why would a Ludlow cop be all the way over here? As you know 275 has pretty long stretches so you can see for long distances. While driving down the road I watched him weave in and out of traffic and even wonder over in the slow lane just to get past normal driving people. He was easily traveling 85mph. I thought, well maybe he is late for work and needs to get there. Or maybe not! When he got off the Wilder exit it was clear that he was more than likely heading home. Just frustrating because reverse the circumstances and I was out all night Plowing Snow and tired and wanted to get home. Does it make it right.....No, it never should be tolerated. I don't care who you are! I look at how the Police drive a little differently ever since about 15-20 years ago a Ft Thomas woman was on her way to work at the IRS one morning only to be hit and killed broadside by a On Duty Ft Thomas Police Officer responding to a call with "0" Lights on. That's right fokes, they determine that the Police Officer had no lights on what so ever. She didn't even see him coming. It makes me nervous every time I see a Cop driving a little out of control. Yeah I know your trained but so was that Cop that night in Ft Thomas.....Please slow down and drive with the flow of traffic and respect the law even if it doesn't pertain to you like the rest of us!!!!

Why don't you call the Ludlow police chief and report him? John Dunn used to get daily calls from me regarding one of his deputies who flew down the AA every morning on the way to work. He was a great drafting partner, I'll say that, but very dangerous.
August 22, 201412 yr Along the lines of what doomer said we all need to work to get along when we are driving. We all see bad drivers and we are all guilty at times ourselves. If we constantly work together the flow would be much better. The only issue that comes up then is the small % of people that will always take advantage of others kindness. One side note, blocking people trying to use an emergency lane is stupid stupid stupid and I think that practice is far worse and more dangerous than actually using the emergency lane. I lived and commuted in the Boston area for 10 years. I remember my first commute on I-95 from Natick to Norwood when someone went blowing by me in the breakdown lane. During rush hour they become driving lanes there, even when the expressway is already three or four lanes. You just hope no one actually breaks down. Also, if there is a traffic jam, and there is an exit coming up, I am all for people using the break down lane to get to the exit....it just reduces the pile-up IMO. However, they should do it cautiously and respectfully.

August 22, 201412 yr I'm talking about people that just ride there for no apparent reason. You know if you are in somebody's blind spot, and if you don't, you shouldn't be driving. Any time I think I may get caught in somebody's blind spot, I either speed up or slow down to avoid it. I took motorcycle safety years ago, and this was one of the first things learned. Know where a drivers blind spot is, and stay out of it.
