June 16, 201412 yr Author I'll throw a wild card in there with the Angels, given their long history of transient stars: How about longtime Angel Brian Downing? Often overshadowed during his time, but was a solid player who was a great table-setter at the top of the lineup for the Halos, drawing a ton of walks and HBPs while being one of the AL's top OBP guys before advanced metrics were cool. Also was outstanding on defense. Not sure why but Bob Fregosi jumps out when I think Angels.

He certainly didn't compare to Musial's 22 seasons with the Cardinals, but still Hornsby had: -12 seasons with the Cards -Earned two triple crowns in their uniform, including one as a player/manager. He and Teddy Ballgame are the only two players to ever get a pair of triple crowns. -Won the NL MVP once as a Card -Won 1 World Series -Earned 6 NL batting champion titles -Earned 2 NL home run champion titles -Earned 3 NL RBI champion titles

I got a chance to meet him once, and long story short, I got to throw out the first pitch of a Phillies game because he and I share the same birthday, April 4th.

June 16, 201412 yr Not sure why but Bob Fregosi jumps out when I think Angels. I could name at least a half dozen Angels that jump out at me...but, they all played significant time with other teams! Carew, Jackson, Bobby Grich, Bob Boone, Doug DeCinces(sp?), Gary Pettis, Wally Joyner, etc. But, if I had to pick just one, I'd probably go with Chuck Finley.

June 20, 201412 yr I want to say Barry Larkin for the Reds. The only reason I say that is cause growing up he was the Reds. I'd say the older crowd would go with Rose, but personally Larkin is mine.
