Scott County 2014/2015

So Jon Hood was wrong? How convenient that Ronnie Carson (East Jessamine), Isaiah Johnson (Madison Central) and DJ Jenkins (Harrison County) all transfer into Scott County. So Hicks says he doesnt even know how this happens? This is crazy.

Kids showing up at Scott County isn't proof of anything. Show me proof.

Went from a lineup of Hines Jones, Tay Guyn, and Jamel Banks returning to DJ Jenkins, Ronnie Carson, Isaiah Johnson, Jamel Banks, with Guyn and Jones most likely coming off the bench. Will be interesting to see what they get from their interior spots.

Any chance the starting lineup is very small ball with Jenkins, Jones, Carson, Johnson, and Banks?

Still too early. Enrolled doesn't equal eligible.

I'd expect them all to be eligible. Last guy I remember not getting eligible was Haddix and he was already there, just lost a year. Are there any others?

Don't know. I've learned to never expect anything.

As a Harrison County alum I'm kind of heart broken. Lol. But good luck to DJ and the Cards

3 high profile transfers in one year and a year when Scott Co was suppose to be down. Is anybody really that suprised?? This is getting ridiculous

I'm with you 100%.

My beef, however, is not with the kids. While I hate that Jenkins will be out of the 10th Region this year, I can't fault a kid for trying to improve their situation. Jenkins can really play & I wish him the best.

Really looking forward to seeing Scott County when they come to Holmes for a scrimmage in November.

AAU culture. Didn't Isaiah Johnson, Ronnie Carson and DJ Jenkins all play for Hoop Dreams? Kids play and practice together all summer and they want to keep playing together when school starts? Look at high school rosters all across the state. How many schools in the top 25 have AAU teammates on them? I'd say a majority do. People keep asking what these schools are doing to land these kids and it seems to me that the kids are doing more talking to one another than anyone else.

This... the AAU relationship between Tanner Moeves and Jake Schulte on Shining Stars was one of the reasons the Moeves boys ended up at NCC last year. Obviously there were other factors as well but that relationship plays a role when parents decide where their kids will attend school.

Then why did all 3 end up somewhere new? Would have made most sense if two others joined one. I would be more likely to buy that if Scott Co had a bunch of really good players returning but they didn't. Would have made more sense if all 3 went to Madison Central.

Two others did join one. Isaiah Johnson was the first to go to Scott County. I believe he went in June. As I said, they all 3 played and practiced together the whole month of July. Plenty of time to conversate and play out scenarios. Ronnie Carson is the next to jump and then DJ follows suit. Ending up somewhere new doesn't mean squat. Even though I can't verify it I'd be shocked if they hadn't discussed joining forces at Scott County. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Prove something funny is going on. Otherwise it's just sour grapes. Georgetown is more appealing than Hazard. Location. Location. Location.
