Two others did join one. Isaiah Johnson was the first to go to Scott County. I believe he went in June. As I said, they all 3 played and practiced together the whole month of July. Plenty of time to conversate and play out scenarios. Ronnie Carson is the next to jump and then DJ follows suit. Ending up somewhere new doesn't mean squat. Even though I can't verify it I'd be shocked if they hadn't discussed joining forces at Scott County. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Prove something funny is going on. Otherwise it's just sour grapes. Georgetown is more appealing than Hazard. Location. Location. Location.

Isaiah Johnson only played 3 events for Hoop Dreams and he didn't play any past AAU state in early May.

I stand corrected. He wasn't on Hoop Dreams after May. They still have a connection because of AAU and I'd say they all 3 knew they were going to be at Scott County before anyone else did. Including the folks at Scott County.

Heard this back in the spring about all 3 players, didnt think that one would happen with Jenkins becasue Harrison has a shot at the 10th region title. Feel bad for the Breds. Person I heard it from was an AAU coach, so go figure.

AAU culture.

A wise man told me that we are headed to club basketball. AAU programs will benefit when this happens. I feel like the seeds are really being planted for club basketball.

We can speculate all we want but we should only be looking at this relative to the KHSAA rules. Whether this is all pure coincidence or something that the players planned is irrelevant. What matters for purposes of the rules are whether employees of Scott County schools "recruited" any of them AND the kids' current living arrangements - whether the kids are now living in Scott County.

If it passes the test in those 2 areas, it's legit. If it doesn't, then it shouldn't be allowed. Remember, the KHSAA isn't their to decide what's "right" or "wrong," but to review these situations relative to their rules.

Amen to that. I'll always feel like complaints about transfers is nothing more than sour grapes and people scared their home team may not be the best on the block anymore. Not one person ever complains when the stud transfer lands at their school. And of course it isn't fishy then either.

Is there anyone really naïve enough to think that "stud transfers land at schools" by chance. I am pretty sure they are not drawing these school names out of a hat????? I will leave a smidge of a doubt......just in case they do. But 95% of the transfers end up at 10% of the schools? Hmmmmmm.....but I digress.......

Just do away with any rules.............go to club ball if that is what it is coming to........just don't try to pretend that there is not a "trend" happening.

^^^This^^^. If it's legal, above board and the kids/families have done what they need to do for an "eligible" transfer, then they can and should be able to play.

With that said, however, let me add I have never been a fan of "school jumping" like this...legal/above board or otherwise. Three talented kids from three different schools transferring in at the same time to the same school? I'm sorry, I'm just not a fan of that. makes for a good team (possibly) and I'm quite sure will be fun to watch, but still. Call me old school, but what happened to school pride and YOU doing everything YOU can to make your school better...ala Brent Bach.:idunno: Maybe I should change my screen name to Old Fart.

Prove something illegal is taking place. All I hear is speculation and sour grapes. Like I said, nobody complains when the stud transfer picks their school.

Why would any of these three kid's situations be comparable to Brent Bach's? Do you have any insight on their situations and why they left their schools?

I have never once speculated there was anything illegal going on........doesn't have to be illegal to be wrong? If your team isn't good enough to win on its own merits, lets just find a way to stack a team that can?????????? Cheapens championships??????????

AAU culture.

If a team like CovCath wins the state title how is that cheapening the championship? How many teams in the last 10 years have cheapened the championship?

Oh wait......that's what they do in the NBA......so it is OK........sorry!!! Old Fart II disagrees.
