June 4, 201412 yr I've noticed in some counties nearly everyone pulls over or slows down when a Funeral Procession approaches and in some counties hardly anyone does this. So where do you stand? -I pull over or yield -I rarely pull over or yield, I don't know them and they don't own the road -Funeral Processions don't have any extra rights, they are just other cars on the road to me
June 4, 201412 yr Get out of the way! Sometimes it is difficult in highly congested areas, then use common sense and be as cautious as possible.

In a high traffic area, doing so could be dangerous. I think this is more of a rural thing, I had never heard of it until I got on BGP and my guess is due to it being so rare in Louisville due to higher population leading to more traffic. Also, until on BGP, I had never heard of the taking a knee with an injured player. We were always told to keep our voices low but in some cases, while on the sideline, a coach would talk to us while giving us water.

No. It's a 4-lane highway with a divider. 2-lane highway? Move over in case the motorcycle officer needs the space. Sidenote: I don't get the "take a knee" approach either.
June 4, 201412 yr Depends on who's funeral it is. Did I like them? Or did I dislike them? Jk. If it's around NKY they get the legal right of way, ill slow down as well. A couple of years ago coming back on RT 32 from Athens Ohio, I was about half way back, there was a funeral procession coming from the other direction. It was a divided highway, well where the east and west bound lanes had about 50 or so feet between them and a ditch. A car pulled over in front of me and I did the same. No trouble as it was on the middle of nowhere and it only took a minute. But in busier areas there is too much traffic and there are more funerals, it really can't be done like it is away from the cities.

June 4, 201412 yr Author Failing to yield is actually a Class B misdemeanor in Kentucky... 3Points, $250Fine, $143Court Cost AND 90Days in Jail possible.
June 4, 201412 yr Author As far as the "Knee thing" goes, our old coach never did it or let the kids do it. He said it too often led to leg cramps. Our team got booed every time they didn't take a knee when my son was in high school.

When I coached, I advised my players to stay away from the area and keep loose.
