May 29, 201412 yr :thumb: Great minds think alike!!! I just can't see a team with Jordan/Lebron getting beat, especially in a best of series. Then to have a young dominate Shaq manning the post and KG hitting that 15 footer, and Stockton giving them all the ball. Yep. No one stops that combo
May 30, 201412 yr I'm amazed at the love an allegedly "bad teammate" someone like Oscar Robertson is getting. I'll take: Bill Russell $4 Tim Duncan $3 Kevin Durant $2 Dwyane Wade $1 Magic Johnson $5 Perfect balance of people, IMO. Two selfish guys with three team-first guys to balance things out. While we may not be the best on-ball defensive squad, I have faith in my group understanding how to funnel things into Russell. Outside shooting may be a problem, though. My other option to counter this would be: Russell $4 Bird $4 Duncan $3 Drexler $2 Stockton $2 This team would be terrible defensively as a whole, but Bird's shooting would make up for it.
June 1, 201412 yr If I want to win a fantasy league, my team would be different. I'm taking the approach that I want to win an NBA championship. That being said, I start with the guy who won six of them with guys like Bill Wennington at center; then I go with best bang for the buck. $5 Jordan $2 Shaq $1 Garnett $5 LBJ $2 Stockton Second option - keep the first three and switch $5 LBJ and $2 Stockton with $5 Magic and $2 Durant. Tough to go wrong either way.

I thought about dropping from Jordan to Kobe to save $1 for another spot, but honestly would rather have Stockton than Thomas and Nowitski over Garnett doesn't matter as much to me. Plus, Kobe and Shaq on the same team - problem. Basically this five has arguably the greatest player ever (MJ) and the two biggest freaks of nature at their position (Shaq and LBJ). Stockton is a great PG and KG, well, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Never gets mentioned in the top 5 but outside of Jordan there has never been another like him in terms of being unstoppable and winning. Wilt had better numbers but I wonder what Shaq's numbers would have been in that era. I love Wilt and Russell but there has never been a big in the NBA that could remotely guard Shaq in his prime. He was just too big. Me, Purplepride and the Guru could have started with him and Kobe and won those titles. Those two together was just unfair.
