Opponents Barred From Speaking As Cobb County Approves New Braves Stadium

Featured Replies

Do you believe the Braves didn't corrupt them? That they acted alone as Braves fans?

I don't. I'll never believe the Braves weren't completely and totally behind the whole operation.

Yes 100% the Braves were behind it. But like the old saying goes "if someone cheats on another to date you, at some point they are going to cheat on you too." In this case if these guys folded this easily against their constituents for the Braves, can they be trusted as Braves employees to do the right thing.

Would you want to hire people with so little backbone that could be so easily corrupted even if it was by you :lol2:

Maybe that was the deal. Get us a new stadium and you have a job

Why would the Braves want to hire people that seem to be corruptible or at the least morally incompetent? I hate the Braves but they are smarter than that.

If I were the Braves I'd tell these guys...ummm thanks but no thanks!

Easy, quid pro quo.

How much are the tax payers on the hook for the new downtown dome?

It isn't downtown. It's out in Cobb County. It better not take out The Tilted Kilt.

I'm not going to lie. This has made watching the Red Sox kick the crap out of the Braves this week even more enjoyable.

I didn't realize that 20 years was the new lifespan of a stadium. I like the downtown stadium in ATL.

Can we assume lawsuits will be forth coming?

One of the first things I thought when I read this.

I should have been more specific, the football dome. That's a ton of cash.

This is what ticked the Braves off in the beginning. The city only has so much and it went to the Falcons. It was clear the priority was the Falcons because, well, it is the NFL. Cobb County is, where they are building the stadium, in a pretty nice neighborhood. The infrastructure around it will be a nightmare. Atlanta can't handle the traffic they have now, this will put a real quagmire on it during game days. They will need, as previously stated, 10X as much $$ to even come close to solving that.

20 years ah, I guess Mike Browns gonna be on the phone for a new stadium soon.

I can't imagine living on the south side and trying to get to a Sunday afternoon game, much less a 7 o'clock weekday game, in Cumberland.

Then you haven't been after dark or paid attention to your surroundings.

This looks bad, very bad, but if you knew how Atlanta works or even had a clue what the Braves front office has dealt with in terms of keeping the team there, you might look at it a little different.

Please elaborate on this.
