So you enjoyed the sample. But did you buy it?

Grocery store samples. Those little glass covered bowl things by the deli with dips, or cheese, or little turkey roll-ups with the toothpicks. Or the little pineapple squares with the toothpicks in the produce area.

I certainly have enjoyed them from time to time. But I can't say that the sample entices me enough to put the product in my cart.

How about you? Do the samples make you buy?

And a question for grocery store folks---do the samples help you sell?

Most of the time...no. However, we have bought (and repeatedly bought) the Jarlsberg Cheese Dip that they have at Kroger's, that we otherwise probably would have never picked up...because of the sample.

I usually just eat the sample and then send my daughter to fetch a second helping if it was good.

Take samples all the time but only occasionally buy it.

Grocery stores usually don't get me, but Sams does all the time

SAMs gets me as well

I'll never forget the one time at Sams they were giving out samples of Powerade Zero in those little Jello Shot cups. I don't know why but I though that was hillarious

I'm not a germophobe, but I don't try samples - especially the ones that are "covered". No telling how many filthy hands are in there pawing around.

That stuff is good! But I have never bought it. :sssh:

Never had bought any of those items.

I do not usually eat the free samples.

I guess seeing the things I did while working in those type of places has taught me not to eat them.

Hard to tell those little old women no :lol2:

Same here.

Never bought anything from the samples.

I like when they have some roasted chicken or something like that in individual cups, sitting on a warmer by the meat/seafood section of my Kroger. Its rare they have any left, but I'm good for 2-3 samples, especially after the gym. Just can't help it.
