I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that it is 5 with Cal's first UK team.

 

I was thinking 5 as well. This team could easily have 5 possibly up to 8. Would be hard to get 8 but it's a POSSIBILITY.

Saw some Jabari hate on the Duke board. Most comments were directed at UK fans. A few said the twins did the right thing. One or two said the UK lineup is scary good. Interesting scene. I don't feel like I would be scared of a Duke/UK matchup in March or April. Cal and K have their work cut out for them to make players happy next season.

2. As I explained, social media and the 24 hour news cycle will multiply pressure from non social media times exponentially. In 96 nobody was telling the players to their face to win a title. People were too scared and humble. Looking at things the players are saying themselves on twitter and what people are saying today on April 25 to the players is applying pressure before they are even on campus together.

 

Frankly I don't see how it is close.

The '78 team had the most pressure of any UK team in my lifetime. They approached the season as anything less than a title was failure. The Seniors had been runner up, NIT Champs and upset in the East Regional Final. There was only one thing left.

 

Pressure was so great they laid an egg in First Round vs FSU in first half. Hall benched Robey, Givens n Claytor till about ten minutes left in the game. They led the comeback charge and won. Cats were 25-2 in that game and Hall said he expected to be fired if they lost. Hall was competing vs Rupp's ghost and UK had not won in twenty years.

If these kids in 2014/15 don't win the title they'll be hated on like the NIT team from 2012/13 and people will let them know every 30 seconds on twitter the day they start to underachieve. If I'm Cal I ban the players from twitter on October 15.

Imagine the pressure had they had ESPN and social media back in 78 when there were only 4 channels on TV. Would that pressure not have multiplied exponentially?

Probably UK fans on the Duke boards trying to stir things uo. There's more UK fans on there than Duke

Yeah they may hate on some of the players but the ones the fans really like now because they've got to see them and their personalities away from the court I don't see them hating.

 

Anybody hating on Wall or Cousins after that hack job they did against WVU, how about Chuck Hayes his team went into the tourney #1 overall seed and didn't make a Final Four...NOBODY hates Chuck.

 

NAZR missed 5000 free throws in regulation in a championship game decided in OT, nobody hates him either.

 

I think your taking to narrow a view on UK Fans as a whole, there will be some haters but unless a kid's just not trying and being selfish I don't see the majority of fans hating on them.
