Some writers write positive articles about players that are great to read.

These two will get so much better from another year. I really like Andrew as an NBA PG if he can learn to compensate for his athleticism. Aaron should really look at some tape of older players in the league (Ray Allen, Kobe, DWade etc.) this summer IMO. Paul Pierce would be another good one to try to steal some things from. Aaron is always going to be in a disadvantage on the NBA level athletically, but that can be overcome with a very polished game.

Their offensive games will come. Tools are there. I think NBA teams were terrified watching EVERY quick guard give them fits. I think each NBA scout envisioned Andrew Harrison trying to keep even the most average PGs in the league in front of him and having no such luck.

 

Just my opinion, but I don't think it was the offensive end that needs terrific improvement draft stock-wise.

We haven't gone 24 hours with this team yet. If these boys don't win it they'll be treated the same and viscerated at every turn every day. The national media and local media will pile on. Fans will pile on. It'll get really ugly and really loud if this team doesn't dominate and win it all. The pressure on this team is just beginning.

 

The 78 team may have been the most pressured team you have seen so far. This one will come close to it, equal it or surpass it. You mentioned that the 78 team were reigning NIT champs...this team is reigning NCAA Runner-Up and they brought back e'erbody along with the #2 recruiting class.

They were ranked #4 going into the NCAA in '77 and were upset by UNC in a Regional Final where UK fell behind by 15, only to cut the lead down to about 5 and have the Heels go into their 4 corners with 15 minutes left and lose after cutting the lead to 1 with about :40 to go.

 

They returned everybody in '78 plus got Kyle Macy after sitting a year out in transfer. (Larry Johnson graduated from the '77 team but he could never shoot like Macy)

Exactly, that's why it's a win-win for both players. Tyler can learn to go against much bigger guys and Andrew has a chance to go against a bullet quick guy. Andrew may not ever get it against quicker players but having this summer and next season will help more than anything else he could do.

Most pressured team since the 1978 UK team that beat Duke in the championship. Hmmmmmm......interesting indeed.

UK fans gave Tubby a rousing ovation at a football game last season & they'll do it again when his jersey is lifted to the rafters.

 

I think a few seasons after Tubby left, cooler heads started to set in and fans came to the realization that Tubby was a heck of a guy, honest and as ethical as they come who loved UK and tried to win at KY but may have just been over his head at a program like UK at no fault of his own.

 

I sort of put Tubby and Bill Curry in the same category. Great guys, maybe not up to the jobs they were hired for. Joker Philips may be in that same category also.

You missed the point of the post. People were talking about most of the hate at UK is directed more towards coaches (Tubby, Billy and Sutton given as examples) rather than players. My point is that hate towards Sutton and Mume has more to do with their lack of ethics and towards Billy Clyde due to stories leaking out about how he treated his players. Tubby was different. I think fans were extremely frustrated by no Final Fours in a decade, his missing out on many top recruits and other areas but after he left and fans heads cooled down, many people realized that while he may not have met the fan bases expectations, Tubby is a heck of a guy. So is Bill Curry and so is Joker and I think the fan base does have respect for Curry now and if not yet, will for Joker. These guys bled Blue, were men of integrity, as far as we know played by the rules, just fell short of expectations. The point of the post was NOT to measure to what degree the fell short (Curry and Joker obviously more so than Tubby) but how all three guys are now seen in a different light now just due to all three being really good guys.
