Dalton stats in nationally televised games per Chris Wesseling on Twitter: 54.6% completion percentage 5.6 YPA 8 touchdowns 14 interceptions 63 passer rating Ha. WOW. His/Marvin's contracts are sunk costs. Cut 'em. Why would Mike Brown do that, though? Mediocrity keeps people going to the games somehow.

Corporate profits slated to continue to rise in 2Q (reporting now), 3Q, and 4Q. You think the bull keeps running? Hate Obama? Hate the ACA? Buy hospitals. That'll show him. Yellen not taking the foot off the pedal is helping.

Great episode TV-wise. Terrible episode book-wise. Ruined a lot of stuff, particularly Jaime and Tyrion's conversation. That was BUTCHERED.

Reds @ Dodgers (May 26 - 28)

What a shame. Tied for most 1-run losses in baseball this year. That's one of two things: bad luck or absence of the big play. In the Reds case, it's more of the latter if you ask me. No backbone to this team whatsoever, and it makes it insufferable to watch. -
Reddit has a fantastic subreddit about A Song of Ice and Fire. I do not know how these people know the books so well, but it's nice to be a freerider and reap the benefits.

:isurrender: As frustrating a first quarter of a season as I've experienced in quite some time. The Reds don't have an ounce of killer instinct in them. They seem to have no issues picking up the players that St. Louis doesn't want, because they've lost their killer instinct already, though! Always a step too late; always an inch too short. -

Or doubles... Man. We have to admit, though, if there is one pitcher who can freeze a runner at third with 0-1 outs, give me Chapman. -

You saying that the integrity of a sports thread isn't hurt by people complaining about others either being too optimistic or too pessimistic constantly? It's petty. It's annoying. Take it to personal messages if you have a feud with someone. That's what is common courtesy, and I'd imagine that it would be enforced on a website of this caliber. -

Will be nice to add another strong arm to the rotation as the bats seek their rejuvenation. On a second note, this MLB thread has become unbearable. If I have to suffer through scrolling by one more "Today, we will see what happens..."-titled threads where individuals just bicker, I am going to lose it. This is not the BGP that I actually used to enjoy (and still enjoy in other threads). -
Looking forward to it. The entire show from here on out should be solid. My only criticism of the show last night was the Reek scene. Pretty pointless if you ask me. I guess designed to show how far gone he is?

Yeah... So... Peter Dinklage. Wow! I'm stealing this line from Reddit but: "Dinklage: I... am guilty... of winning an Emmy!"

Did HBO accidentally confirm a 'Game of Thrones' theory? link

Pretty good article summarizing the basic theory of the Night's King. He was apparently a Stark from many generations ago who was in the Night's Watch. He fell in love with a White Walker woman, and ruled from a castle along the Wall, until his brother (another Stark) removed him from the area. Before he was removed, however, he converted 13 of his fellow brothers into White Walkers using some dark magic. Not much is known of him besides that. The episode was great, IMO. It's about time, as a book-reader, that something is illustrated/foreshadowed not as GRRM writes in the books.

After the fantastic job that they've done with the shows so far and also a reader of the books, I have faith in HBO to put together another quality product. The main thing I'm looking to get resolved is if Jon and Bran meet. That is the only situation where major deviations could result. I've read a lot about the ending of the show. I thought the episode was awesome, and for once, it shed light on an aspect of the book that hasn't really been discussed. I am not sure how serious fans of the books people on here are, but go read a Reddit thread on it, if you have any interest. It's pretty fascinating -- both the show's episode and how much time people have on their hands to know EVERY detail about ASoIaF.
