I'd say 6 years, $140M range probably....More than Homer, but not as much as the elite of the elite are getting.

If that is the case, I believe he will be playing somewhere other than Cincinnati...

That's probably a little high the more I think about it....More like $125M over 6 years.

I can't speak for him, but I'm guessing the issue had little to do about trust. Sure, they may be the worst bullpen in the league...but, Cueto had been dealing through 8. In fact, if anything, I'd say it was more about giving Cueto a boost, in the thinking that he's all the way back to where he was a couple years ago. As far as pitch count, it wasn't like he started the inning at 110 or so.

Agreed, it wasn't like he was throwing a lot of high stress pitches either. He was cruising.

Question is... What kind of contract should Johnny Cueto get when his is up? That of a top pitcher? Or that of an injury risk?

Great question, long way to go this year but if he keeps this up it will be that of a top pitcher.

I think he had a 4 pitch 7th inning or something to that nature.

When will you people quit listening to Jim Kelch? He's awful. It was a 7 pitch inning. :taz::taz:

After the Pena reversal (I thought inconclusive and should have stayed as called on the field), why would you pitch to Cozart? Yeah, he's hitting .138 and you'll face a PH (Robinson was in the on deck circle) for Cueto, but that's my whole point.

Wouldn't you rather face Denard Robinson with 1st & 3rd and 2 outs AND the Reds bullpen for 2 innings than Cozart and Cueto for 2 more innings the way he was dealing? Hell, even if Robinson goes yard for 3 runs, I like my chance of getting those runs back off of the Reds bullpen better than getting to Cueto!!!

As it turns out, Bucs got the worst of everything when Cozart drove in the run and they still have to face Cueto!!!

^Denard Robinson plays baseball now? :D I think you meant Derrick Robinson, but regardless, he's not on the Reds either.

Reds would have kept Cueto in the game. Bernadina was merely out there to look like the Reds were going to PH for Cueto.

If you're still hawking beer at the ballpark 44 years from now, you're either a.) going to have a body of Hercules, or b.) have two knee replacements and several herniated discs. No offense, but I'd put money on "b". :lol2:

Haha yeah no way I'm the vendor they'd be buying from. Dad and then on my mother's side, uncle, grandpa, and great grandpa have all had two knee replacements. So its a forgone conclusion that I'll be getting them as well, even without working as a beer vendor.

I believe he also had another inning where he only threw 9 pitches...and possibly another one that was in single digits too. He was definitely in the groove last night.

Can Simon do it again tonight? Guy has been unreal with a 0.86 ERA thus far.

What ever happened to that guy? He was a nice piece off the bench... Still got that bum shoulder thing he had going on?

He's better than George Grande and his 'little bloopers' that get caught on the warning track and 'deep drive's to right' that 'Phillips will haul it in.'

Yes
