Trinity is 112 -9 versus their "new" district foes. Seneca owns the best record at 2-13! J-town is 0-22, Eastern 2-35 and Ballard 5-42.

Agreed. Easy fix, but I'd let Berea replace Frankfort instead of FK.

 

Of all the set ups, having Berea in with Campbellsville, Caverna, Fort Knox and Bethlehem (all of whom are 5th Region Hardwood and Diamond members I might add) is as bad as Bell County currently being in the "West". Geez...talk about a haul; Berea to...well, all of those schools.

 

The problem in 1A geographically is you have a number of good, close 3 team districts and then you have some schools, like Berea and the Fultons, that just aren't close to anyone. Berea is traveling a lot no matter what district they go into. There will be some brutal round 1 and 2 drives between District 1 and 2. Berea to Fulton is 4 hours.

But, Berea....heck of a lot closer (while still being a haul) to a couple other districts than district 2.

 

Every bit of 4 hours and probably longer. They'll need a rocket launcher up their tail to make it right at 4.

I bet Berea gets moved. Caverna, Campbellsville, Bethlehem and FK all sit within the I-65 Corridor and Berea sits right on I-75.

 

They are much closer to all of the teams in District 4, 5 and even 7 than any of the teams in District 2 and it's not even close.

Now for the challenge ... where do you move them? Is there one other school in 1A within a one hour drive of Berea? Frankfort is probably the closest and that is an hour away.

Lesser of the evils is where you move them, IMO. Frankfort is closer. Paris. Nicholas County. Williamsburg isn't an hour down I-75. Lynn Camp about the same distance.

Also, forget the playoffs. But, Berea to Caverna.

 

I can't say much for myself, but if there was a ever such a thing as being equally familiar to both of those areas in the state and everywhere in between...it's me. I've never made the drive from Berea to Caverna....and, I'm thinking there is a very good reason for that.

 

I would put it in the list of painful things such as:

-shopping trips with my Mother in Law

-riding in a Prius

-watching a Professional Bowling Tour event, live in person

-drinking Kessler Bourbon Whiskey b/c it's my drink of choice

 

....other things I've also never done.

Ram, I have read that Allen Central and South Floyd will be consolidating in a year or two. That will leave District 8 with 4 teams again. What will they do about the playoffs then with regards to District 6?

Seems odd that the 5th seed from another Region would come into play for our Region anyway..... I'm just thinking out loud.

1. Agreed, I believe they should have used a 2-year data instead of 4-year data.

 

2. Allowing teams to move up or down should not have happened. They are called classes for a reason.

 

3. I have no problem with asking the schools about the alignment afterwards. The schools know their geography a little better than the KHSAA (as sad as that is).

May have made some unhappy- but the coaches don't care. Got to beat the best if you want to be the best. The times they are a-changin.

Scott County If I read the post season pairings correctly they will never face a Louisville school before the championship game. How many trips in a row do they have to make before people want them barred from the KHSAA? My guess is the KHSAA did this to appease McKee.

 

All of the NKY schools. They are assured no less then a 3 seed in the playoffs every year.

 

Trinity. The game with X won't end any time soon so they now have 5 games filled. The big question is will anyone else put on their big boy pants and step up to play them.
