Dang! I can't believe I left Watusi out! THAT is one of the most egregious mistakes of life! I'm so sorry! I hope you know that seeing you was amazing and as with GT, SG and MTGL, I hope that we can avoid several years lapse before we meet again.

Now that I've finally made it home, a few more randoms:

35Bird-it was a distinct pleasure meeting you! I had no idea you a Badger, though. :D

Hoops5-another delightful pleasure to meet. We'll need to have a "Girls of BGP" outing. I already mentioned it to a few others.

Sportsguy, Gametime, Mentsch-it is way too long between meet ups! I hope we can remedy that. You all have been a part of my longest running BGP circle of friends.

Clyde & Oldbird-It was fantabulous to FINALLY meet you! And again, a real pleasure.

Swamprat & Mrs. Swamprat-ALWAYS a great time when I get to spend time with you...and Swampy....sometimes...there is no logic. :D

RebelK and Mr K-you give me giggles...I hope when you decide, you call me to be your tour guide when you visit West Baden. Oh...and RK...I'll never listen to Terry without thinking of you. GO CARDS!

TB&G-My fellow A Team member, we owe each other a day of Trader Joe's and Three Dog Bakery. Let's plan it!

Plantman, I wish I'd had more time to talk to you. You were all the way at the other end of the table, though! And although I am a person of considerable projection abilities, after attacking mcpapa with my rogue phone, I felt it was better to keep a low profile.

Nkypete, you're one hilarious dude, which I already knew from Molly's. I love your sense of absurdity. You didn't...ummm..go to the office at Rio's...right?

RTS-Your secret is safe with me....but find what I know about you now to be diametrically opposed to your militant persona. Your family is delightful, your son a mini-you. His girlfriend had the.most infectious, delightful laugh. And Mrs RTS...oh.what I wouldn't give to hang out with her and try to influence her! ***evil laugh***

Mcpapa-my fellow comrade in arms! You are one I have wanted to meet for SUCH a long time! I must say, you are even cooler than I imagined....and taller! Once again, I apologize for unwittingly damaging both your psyche and physique with my mobile office.

And Guru-Always a pleasure and it's also been too long since we've met up! It was nice to be able to look you in the eye when I didn't keep my opinions to myself. :D. And you really HAVE mellowed over the years!

I wish I'd seen KYTMCc and Mexitucky! And I know there were many others there I didn't get to meet. I hope there's another opportunity in the not-too-distant future!

papa and I had to drag those opinions out of you but once you got started OMG OMG OMG!

Over three years away from "The Job" no question anyone would mellow out. And I told you so when we were having our 2-11 chat.

And awesome truly does describe you!

I am very sorry I could not attend the wake but have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. I know Dave is also reading along smiling down. I mean to know how many fellow BGPers truly loved this guy is just a blessing. I want to be at the next get together for sure.

You bring the bourbon, I'll bring the awesome.

We got in this morning about 9:30. I didn’t have a computer with me up there and I don’t like posting that much on my tablet or phone. (Fat fingers, to go along with the rest of me.) I had a bunch of work to catch up on, so I’m just getting to this. I’m slowing down, so my observations may take me sometime to post. I really need sleep right, now.

First off, Dave was very special friend to Mrs. S and myself. He touched us like he touched everybody else he came in contact with. We’d see him every chance we got, up there and down here. He and Mrs. S spent many a late night texting about everything. He became a member of my extended family.

Several people have expressed their gratitude for our trip, but as I told Dave’s father, I can’t wax poetic when I feel the way I felt about Dave, as many on here can. Neither I nor Mrs. S could properly express our feelings by post or letter. The only thing I could think of to honor him, the way I wanted to, was to come and participate in the celebration of his life.

As I discussed with RTS, yesterday after the services. The new tradition, to continue our friendship and celebrate his life for the rest of ours, is when we come to NKy/Cincinnati, for any reason, we will visit Dave’s resting place. I’m hoping others will join RTS and his lovely better half in this tradition with us.

Better late than never I guess...

rockmom, it is always a joy. I understand there is not always logic. We’ve been friends for how long, now? Defies logic too, doesn’t it? :D Also, remember, I have a daughter who thinks like you. However, she doesn’t carry a “mobile office” that doubles as a weapon. Be careful with that thing, girl. Papa is lucky he can walk, now.

Speaking of mcpapa, he makes me look bad (I know, it's not that difficult). What I mean is, I look about 10 years older than him. I'm 3 years younger.

I finally got to meet 2C. We’ve talked on the phone several times and have even exchanged clothing, but we had never met face to face. You actually are what I expected you to be. This guy is all that and a bag of chips folks. He really is.

Clyde was not what I expected at all, though. I found him to be one of the most engaging people I’ve ever met, just in that short time. I really would like to spend more time with him.

I made fun of the fact that Oldbird had aged so much since the last time I saw him. Then I realized it was 11 years ago. The man actually looks good. The running does pay dividends, OB.

I left such an impression on Mentsch..., the first time we met, that he didn’t even remember it. :D Ahh, those clandestine cabinet meetings at the Chinese buffets, back in the day. You are not supposed to remember those, are you? I don't have to worry, now. You've met my wife. She leaves an impression, of some kind, on everybody. :D

BTW, I don’t know why, but Mrs. S kept talking about your fajitas all day yesterday. What was that all about?

Guru made me look into one of those "Men In Black" devices that wipe your memory when he took my Admin title away. Sorry Swampy! The other problem is I have been to Chinese buffets with 'Ru 158 times, so they sort of run together. :bunny:

Don't blame me for the title reductions, that one is on you.
