Congrats to both teams for making it to the finals and playing a game that enjoyed so much to watch! I honestly can not remember another game that I stood up so much to watch. Especially thanks and congrats to the entire Cov Cath basketball family. You made this ex player's parent so proud wearing the Cov Cath Basketball sweatshirt I wore today.

Oh yea, oh so special congrats to TOG. It was so nice seeing you on the podium with your team.

The first "official" state tourney was in 1918. There were two "un-officlal" ones before that. Officially this was number 97.

He's the biggest crybaby I've ever seen. Whines and cries about every call. Embarrassing.

Let's not go overboard. Hicks is a good coach who works the refs. You don't see him getting T's. I think his record speaks for itself. He's a very good basketball coach, point blank, period.

Accomplishments:

- 2 KY State Championships

- 5 KY State Finals Appearances

- Coached the McDonald's All-American Team

Not a bad resume. Let's be real. He wasn't the coach of the better team tonight, but you'd be crazy to say you wouldn't want him on your sideline.

There have been more than 88 actually. State tournament started in 1918 officially. First time it wasn't an invitational affair (i.e. earned by winning a region) was in 1922. You may have seen my stat about 88 years since district tourneys began. It's 3 for 97 for NKY.

Congrats to CC staff and team. They played fast and hard for 4 days including a very scrappy, very determined effort vs Scott County for the Championship.

Coach Hicks cut his teeth in the 13th region where he learned to distrust officials. Especially those who had standing accounts at Coach Keith's clothing store.

I assume all-state voting has already taken place. I'd be curious to see if it would change after watching the Sweet 16.

For the record, I thought the officials did a fine job today in the finals.

I did as well.

K thats more like Drew Stubbs...

Wow come now NKY! Congrats CC.

They were consistent - which is what I think is the goal. A couple of calls here and there were questionable, but all in all they did do a good job.

This made me remember something - Great job to Mark the Shark Shult- I seem to recall him picking up two quick fouls. Was very concerned that he would foul out early. He played a lot of minutes, after that and if I recall correctly never even picked up his fourth file.

Congrats to CovCath! Only 3rd time ever a 9th region team brings home the trophy..way to do Northern KY proud!!

Well Congrats to Cov. Cath. That game is what its all about, who could ask for a better ending to another great year,to have a comeback like that and go to overtime.Don`t care what anyone says or thinks how we should classify ky high school basketball, this is the best show in hoops.

Agree. When we stop going with the "all for one" format, I'll stop flying in from Texas to come see it.
