His antics on the side line were embarrassing. I heard he was that way on the court side but he was way worse than I was told. Maybe he should retire on top now. Someone show him a video how he looks from the stands.

 

It is what it is, and he is who he is. However comical, personally I dig his drama. He certainly stands out and is entertaining. He's got a resume that proves something to say the least.

 

His quick half time interviews during the Sweet 16 typically displayed emotional lopsided assessments, but honestly in the world of sports how uncommon is that? You might not always agree with him, but he definitely can't be ignored. His facial expressions reach all the way to the last row and into the rafters at Rupp.

 

If a sports film maker was looking for an idea that would work, they'd need look no further. He could star as himself because I'm not sure you'd find an actor better suited to play the part.

 

Long live Billy Hicks. He's one of the many, and certainly one of the main reasons Kentucky High School Basketball is so exciting.

 

Love him or hate him, dude's a star.

Antics or no antics the guy can coach and is a great PERSON to boot. He is a Christian man that does not cuss at his players and quite frankly does not cuss at all and surrounds himself with a staff that is the same way. They push their kids hard and have fun when it is time to have fun but ask anyone and they will tell you losing is never fun. He preaches excellence and to be honest he is quite entertaining to watch on the sidelines. The scary part is he probably knows more about the rules then the refs do and he is always checking them. But Billy gives to his kids, he helps them, he loves to fish, will cut up with you and will also make you toe the line. Some may not like him but heck a bunch of people hated Cal early in the season and now the love him. Just the way it goes. I hope Billy is on the sidelines for a long time to come.

It is always amazing to me the transformation a person may go through during a game. I've seen it in both coaches and parents.

Good to hear next year's bunch is getting after it.

 

They were there Friday night in an open gym at 10:00. Back Saturday morning going at it again.

 

Got that taste and want it again.
