Getslow
3.39 this morning 3.70 Now OIL DOWN TO DAYS IN A ROW Don't use only the price of oil. It's a red herring on gas prices. One of the things helping drive it up in this case is increasingly better ways of transporting oil that's already been refined out of the country to sell abroad at even higher prices. Exports of refined motor gasoline have risen exponentially in the last decade. At the same time, government controls on the export of crude oil have remained in place; it's a nice handout to the companies that run refineries in the U.S. but keeps per barrel prices of crude artificially low. Getslow
In Louisville on Saturday the morning price was 3.49 the afternoon price was 3.79 The 30 cents in a day stuff has been crazy. We've had two 30-cent, single-day price swings in the last week alone.
John Anthony
How many years has this been going on? How many trucks and SUVs are still on the road? 40-80 dollar fill ups aren't going anywhere, just our choice where we pay in that scale.
OlDog75
What I've noticed is the increase comes either near or on weekends. Been seeing this pattern for a few months now. You cannot win against the gas companies. Something happens somewhere in the world with a refinery that US never purchases oil from, that's an excuse to raise prices.........for gas that has already been bought and is sitting in tanks here. You have an older car that uses more gas, you pay the price for using more gas. You buy a more fuel efficient car that uses much less gas, prices go up because the companies aren't selling as much. It's a joke.
newarkcatholicfan
3.50 this morning 3.80 right now. Oil over 102 bucks a barrel, so we can expect 4 bucks a gal soon.
Jack of all Trades
3.50 this morning 3.80 right now. Oil over 102 bucks a barrel, so we can expect 4 bucks a gal soon. And the media and various gas price websites called it before it happened. Go figure
uk#1fan
I seen gas for $3.89 today.
John Anthony
Controversial statement but it needs to be $5 a gallon to really end our oil addiction enough to where oil drops to $50. Or we will all just complain about $4 forever.
newarkcatholicfan
MOST PLACES JUMPED RIGHT BACK UP TO 379.9. WITH OIL OVER 104 A BARREL gas should be climbing over 4 bucks soon. The jump today was 30 cents at some places, which seems to be the norm.
TheDeuce
It's price gouging. In Riverport in Louisville gas is $3.89, but drive 6 miles down Dixie and it is 20-25 cents cheaper.

TheDeuce
I honestly have never understood the constant complaining about gas prices....:idunno: I'm in the same boat. The only thing that really bothers me is the 30-40 cent jumps in less than 24 hours time. Other than that, it doesn't bother me. Everybody needs gas.
